XP is sooo dated, vulnerable, and slow compared to modern OSes. Anyone still running XP was obviously hit byt he word of mouth of vista, while the vast majority of vistas problems have ben long sorted out, windows 7 improves in every possible way over both vista and xp. People would be foolish not to upgrade to 7 at some point in the next 2 years.
Wow, the PS3 loses a lot of detail on the Force Unleashed, especially the ground textures. Most of the games, the objects look out of place on the Ps3 also, probably due to the range of light/dark, it loses detail in the darker areas also... loses 'fidelity' if you will. Then again, my 360 can't play bluray............ so for games 360 = best.. yet again.
I jsut bought the 9800gtx ocx from bfg, and it was just brand new... as of march 11th, .. why did they have 2 new generations of cards in the last 3 months? I'm a little pissed off at that because i wanted top of the line only to be outdone not even in a year like the normal cycle. Oh well, nothing bogs this card down anyways, waste of time.
But by time sony releases their next cosnole, the price will be bang on cheap and large capacity.. and same goes for computers and the next nintendo/microsoft consoles...
The problem with dual and quad core cpu's is that even if games are multithreaded, they won't use most of the power available on the cpu's mostl because the information being processed on the "graphics" thread which eats most of the power, has to be done on a single thread in order for the string of information to be properly processed. In other words, games will use one core for graphics, another core for AI another core for antialising, but that first core being used for graphics will be the part that slows it down, and there really isnt a proper way yet to break that thread into smaller ones to be process, sicne they cant do the next step until the previous step has completed and passed the information on the the next handle.
