This isn't just about perspective. It's also about a bias and oversensitive misinterpretation. Perhaps even misrepresentation..

The value of a perspective doesn't amount to much when it's based on a false premise. The author's comment could easily be interpreted as libel in the current social climate..

Why am I not surprised that this author is pushing an interpretation that suits his own morality as opposed to the people that actually made the game?

"I know the character better than they do!"


The game's outcome is exactly what you'd expect from Japanese media culture, which is certainly not beholden to his own western influenced understanding of gender roles and sexual preferences. They're worlds apart.


Some people have a tough time understanding that not everyone uniformly agrees on what constitutes a same-sex preference or even a gender identity disorder--least of all the Japanese and gay American sub-culture. This person is clearly one of those people.
