actually you are allowed to short sell except for yesterday when there was a ban in place on short selling butt hat expired today. You can even naked short sell (where the person doesn't even know that you're borrowing their stocks).

So, I just read this caption from MSNBC: WASHINGTON - News that the Bush administration is considering taking part ownership in a number of U.S. banks helped restore a relative calm over global financial markets Thursday.

Whats weird is that according to Yahoo other makets didn't go down very much..

Before US markets opened yesterday the Japanese index NIKKEI dropped 9% and the US stocks, yesterday, shed just a little more than 1%. If one market takes a huge dive it doesn't necessarily mean that all the other markets will dive by the same margin.

well then watch the japanese stocks or the european stocks......for the most part there is always a time during the day when some market somewhere is trading.......and the best part is THEY ARE ALL TANKING!!!!

So I guess you all have heard the old addage "when life gives you lemons make lemonade!" Well I've found a way to do this with all the depressing stock market news.

1. Download a good stock ticker that lets you keep track of stocks and is always updating.

2. Get a good bottle of tequila, vodka, whiskey, rum, etc.

3. Find a nice shot glass....heck you don't even need a shot glass just use the bottle (times are tough like I said)

4. Fire up the stock ticker open up your bottle and every time the Dow takes a dip you take shot.

If you wanna have even more fun....you have to take a shot every time the Dow, S&P, or Nasdaq takes a dip. The only problem here is that you'll have to start your drinking very early in the morning and most people will think you're a lush (and a weirdo) if they walk in on you staring at a stock ticker and doing shots of whatever and 9 in the morning

that's what very few people understand...if I had the money, i'd be investing like crazy right now...you know the shares will bounce back...and when they do, it's going to be a big payoff fo who did the investing...I just don't think it should be the government

well considering I don't have the money to invest, I can't give you exact example as I haven't studied each and every company. I'm talking about the overall economy, and wall street as a whole. When the stocks are down you buy, when they're high you sell. Someone who's taken Economics 101 can tell you that...the government doesn't need to get involved.
