I just want the government to stop mucking around with the economy. Free market economics work well if we maintain an ethical backdrop for society, and at the worst we a have a bunch of rich businessmen as opposed to socialism that gives you a rich government.GIJames248
The problem with maintaining an ethical backdrop is that you have to trust the big CEOs and financial leaders to maintain an ethical book of business and, with the current problem, we obviously can't trust these people to make ethical decisions. Not enough government control leads to a situation like the 1930s and too much government control leads to the federalization of our entire banking system which we all know as socialism. What the government needs is to first realize is that buying up all these toxic banking assets and making them the burden of the american people is not only completely ludicrous but completely unethical and socialistic. The government needs to also come up with a plan to deal with all these homeowners who are defaulting and being foreclosed on. The current bill doesn't address that whatsoever it only addresses the the frozen credit markets.
I'm not American, but I want Obama to win. I'm not confident at all that he'll win. It's incredibly close.Junkie_man
I think that if you lived in America you would see that Obama will be the clear victor. The media has already made up their minds on this one and the American people will follow suit like they always do.
[QUOTE="P08C"]go tell all the people who are defaulting on their mortgages and getting foreclosed on and all the unemployed people who got laid off because their comapny couldn't afford to pay them and all the small business owners who have to close down or lay off their employees that this is all an election season scheme and I bet they'll give you an earful. This crisis has been going on for at least four years now (if not longer...imo this all started with enron)and you can't just sit their and blow it off as an election season scheme!

I'm saying that ot's being made to look worse than it is and that's the scheme part, but yes there are major problems.
The situationw e are seeing right now is only the beginning and the real problems haven't blead down to the everyday citizen yet (other than those who have been laid off and lost their homes). So of course all these average joes are going to be able to get there loans no problem. The real issue for them are the rates. Deposit interest rates are dropping and loan rates are jumping...a person with excellent credit will have to pay the rate that a person with mediocre credit would've had to 10 years ago. Slowly but surely this thing will bleed down to all of us in some way or another.
