[QUOTE="Orpheus_1986"]One of the key factors in console development is that the base hardware does not change durign the generation. Thats why they are successful as a gaming and development medium.DevilMightCry

Adding more RAM does not change the basic hardware.

Adding RAM allows so people to have high textures, more video RAM for particle effects etc (seeings as all of our next gen consoles share RAM amongst they're graphics sub system and the main CPU) To make use of the minority of customers having extra ram. A Game developer will need to code for it. Otherwise its pretty much a redundant purchase on the customers part.

RAM size on a console isn't anywhere near as important as a PC where 40+ processes are running at the same time all requiring system memory. A RAM upgrade won't bring anything new to the table.

Im just a gamer (its one of my many hobbies) sometimes i play casually, someimes i sit down and play for hours a day. This 'hardcore' and 'casual' stuff is just childish cliqueness.

I'd be inclined to believe the Bioware post. How easy is it for a PR person to take a screenshot using an engine build that has lower texture quality at lower resolutions when they know they have a deadline to meet. The fanboys will **** and moan. The gamers will wait for MEs release and then judge biowares final product because basicly you guys have no idea what build of the engine that screenshot was taken on. Hell you don't even know if it was taken on a retail 360.

They all run with no problems, but i'd recommend downloading the Baldurs Gate 2 Tutu Mod to run BG1 in the BG2 engine.

Why does exclusivity mean so much to the gamers of SW?

Other than ammunition for the fanboys the loss of exclusivity of big franchises is only good for the development houses that make these games. More money for talented development teams means better quality gaming for everyone. Its a win, win situation. All gamers get to experiance top quality titles and devs get the cash they need to keep creating There is no reason for a large development house/publisher not to multiplat a core franchise especially at this point in console gamings history where both of the main players machines are so equally matched in power. Multiplating brands also paths the way for new exclusives to be released, new ideas by smaller companies (companies that may not have the financial clout or teamsize to develop two systems at once) to take there chosen console into new directions and create the next big names in the industry.

I'd like to hear opinions on the issue...why does exclusivity mean so much when gamers and the devs that create the games we play (lets not forget that all devs are gamers aswell) lose out because of it?

That PC won't last 4 years and won't run anything new this year on max.SkyRaid
...Why would i need to run everything on max....i don't play games for graphics as a primery factor in my enjoyment of them.
