I would say Modest Mouse. They have made such a great variety of music since the early 90's. They are one of my favorite bands, and I really like almost all of their songs.
I know there's a pretty good online community, but its kind of annoying because you can get booted by a majority vote at any time during the game. So, in other words, if you're doing well don't expect to last long.
It depends on the guitar hero you're playing, but I am pretty sure that now, the rock band guitar works with GH III and up. GameStop has a compatability list for this.
The closest thing I can really think of on 360 would be Viva Pinata. It seems like a kiddy game, but it can actually be a lot of fun. I personally liked how you could customize nearly every aspect of your garden, including houses, trees, water, fencing, plants, etc. It can get really hectic though once your garden gets larger.
As long as its not a 40 year old man pretending to be a 23 year old woman, then I guess its pretty cool. Its hard to meet girls these days that are true gamers.
I thought that Halo: Combat Evolved had the best campaign mode, but I really don't like the multiplayer because when I went back to it, the controls seemed really floaty and unresponsive. Halo 3, IMO, has the best online play mainly because of all the downloadable game types.
Definitely Modern Warfare 2, unless you're a really huge soccer fan. Assassin's Creed II might be good, but I'm really not 100% sure on that. I have, however, seen the gameplay videos for MW2, and they look amazing.
