It does suck for third party developers but not so much for Sony. Those who do pirate games to put on their psps still need to buy a psp and memory card(s). Also, it is too bad Sony does not re-relase classic PS1 games on UMDs. Kind of like what Nintendo did with their old Nintneodo games being put on a GBA cartridge.

You could sell it, but consider the fact that you will have to download all your favorite songs for Rock Band again on th PS3. Also, updating firmware on the PS3 take a very long time esspecially if you like playing multiplyer games. I say keep it and ask a friend if you may borrow his/her PS3 for a few days.

When in a dogfight, aim for the flashy light (StarFox).

It probably does not matter but Call of Duty: World at War is not Call of Duty 5. Infinity Ward is working of Call of Duty 5 as we respond to this forum. Just thought it might be relevant.

Perhaps a better solution would be to have a system a bit (but not completely) like Call of Duty. When a player quits, the teams are uneven. It would be better if the game were to find a replacement player once another player has quit. Though some would argue this would not be good for tracking rank, neither is a game where players quit. I would rather have a game where the teams are even rather than an accurate ranking system. If this method is absolutely horrible for tracking rank then maybe a compromise is in order. For example, when a game starts, there could be a 3 minute window of opportunity for players to quit and later be replaced by players who are still looking for games in matchmaking. After the 3 minutes, everyone would be locked in and then bannhammers could be put on overdrive if needed when players quit. The only problem I have with banning due to quitting is that there are many reasons why people quit; some good and bad. Such reasons include: bad lag, poor sportsmanship, parents needing to give attention to their kids or even a pissed off parent who unplugs their kid's ethernet cord. I am not saying that quitting is good but rather that banning people for cheating would not solve the problem it creates.

If you have a Gold membership, game demos are free. Also, think of it as getting what you pay for. Microsoft has a lot of control over how developers offer online play over XBox LIVE. An excellent example is SOCOM: Confrontation on PS3. Oddly enough, Confrontation still uses a server list (like PC games) as opposed to the new console standard of matchmaking. Personally I find matchmaking more efficient in terms of having a higher quality game. A problem I have with server lists is that you always have to find and sign into a server which probably only supports 256 players. I believe the XBox LIVE server has over 11 million players. I also find the software for the XBox 360 better streamlined and easier to access for online play better than the PS3's. It is also easier to keep in touch with your friends over XBox LIVE then it is over any other online game service that it be Sony's or other private developers' PC servers. One last point. When I first played Metal Gear Solid 4, it took me well over 2.5 hours to get an update to play online. It took about an hour after that to install it (the cell processor is good, why?) After that, I needed to make yet another account on KONAMI in order to play online; I got fed up and just played the single player. Even though MGS4's multi-player was said to be not worth the wait for the update according to my friends, my point is that Microsoft's updates (though frequent for some games) take 30 seconds to download and install. In summary, you get what you pay for.

All I use is the official XBox 360 wireless adapter and a d-link wireless N router. Believe it or not it serves better than my hard wire connection. Have the modem (the thing provided by your internet service provider) be connected to your wireless N router via an ethernet cord. Then have your wireless adapter be connected to your XBox 360. If you are new to wireless networks, I recommend contacting customer support. Their help should have your wireless network up in 30 minutes. Once your wireless N router is configured properly, your XBox 360 should be able to automatically find your wireless N router with the wireless adapter plugged in. I do not think it matters which brand of wireless router you use. I switched to d-link due to their similar functionality to linksys and the price was better. If your house is very old it may be very bad for wireless technology due to there being many walls. This is why I use a wireless N router as opposed to a wireless G router. Hope this helps.

Aside from 2 joysticks, Sony should try and make a software much like iTunes so that you never have to buy a UMD. I find it very illogical to have a small portable devise when you have to lug around UMDs in a bag. We need SonyTunes and large capasity memory cards to store games. Also previous posts pointing out the need for a touch screen is a good idea too.

When you compare XBox LIVE to Playstation Online, it seems the only thing we are paying for in LIVE is the 24 hour customer support. I dont know about you but I can do without 24 hour support.
