I don't have a particular problem with people going to freemium/microtransactions if they really want to. That's their choice. My problem is EA dragging all the great IP they've gobbled up over the years into that crap. Real Racing 3 is fine because that's a new IP just with that in mind, but SimCity or Dead Space 3 are clear examples that the model lowers the quality of proper AAA titles with its presence. I think the real issue people have is basically that, do as many crap mobile/social games as you want to, just keep that microtransaction crap out of games we already paid a good amount of cash for.

No thanks to any microtransactions. I got this for cheap on Steam sale, and while the story was definitely interesting, the actual gameplay wasn't all that great (and I don't buy that it was intentionally mediocre). We'll see what they do, but if there really are microtransactions infesting it then I'll pass on this.

I really really dislike episodic game content. Maybe I don't know how it's working out financially for Konami and Kojima Productions, but I'm happy waiting a few years to get a really fleshed out game like MGS4. That's another thing, MGS4 had a crapton of detail but isn't that long a game all things considered. How long would an "episode" be from a dev like Kojima Productions?

I'd like to keep full big games please. I've been burned a few times on episodic content already (I'm looking at you, Valve...)

I just started again recently with Skyrim due to Dragonborn (which was awesome by the way), and now they do this. Dammit Bethesda, why do you hate my free time so much?

Played a bit of the demo at a store here in Japan and immediately ordered an American import version (I grew up with the voices in English, dammit). Great fun from what I've played so far and I hope it does well.

Eh, I do play PC games and the DRM was an issue before, but not so much now. I wish it was gone, but realistically all game companies are stuffing that crap in there and it's kind of impractical to try to boycott everyone except indies and a couple of small development studios for what's become a crappy but standard practice. Despite complaints from others, I really enjoyed Assassin's Creed III and some other games on PC, and if they start developing with more focus on PC players, more power to PC players. This spoiled brat entitled attitude PC gamers have really needs to stop if we want the industry to take us seriously again.

Glad he's happy...but then again, I haven't thoroughly enjoyed a game from id since Quake III. Especially after how Rage turned out, I wonder how he's all that relevant anymore.

Well, I'm not getting this at launch, that's for sure. Shame, I was seriously considering it, but with only one exception (Assassin's Creed III) I've never bought a season pass, and I don't intend to start now. I don't like feeling like I'm missing out on the full game for not buying into this DLC nonsense, so I'll wait for a GOTY edition. At least the DLC is single player content instead of crap multiplayer packs like it usually is, but still.

Most analysts don't really know what they're talking about (especially Pachter), but Divnich is usually spot on. I hope he's right, I want industry to continue thriving and that means successful launches from all the companies. Still, if they try to restrict used games they can go screw themselves.

Honestly, a lot of the stuff sounds a bit cool. The price is also not too insane (inflation is a thing, and although it is slow in recent years it still exists). As far as consoles go, I do prefer Sony, but lately I've been playing my PC a lot more than my PS3. I'll wait and see how the games turn out, and if they have any dealbreakers like blocking used games.
