It's true that these shouldn't be annual (these shooters are sucking money out of the rest of the industry), but EA is just as guilty/ Just because their shooters don't have the same title don't mean they're not doing basically the same thing. I hope the next generation of consoles puts an end to this yearly shooter stuff and introduces some more variety in blockbusters again. I'm not saying don't have big franchises, but at least space them out 2 years or so.

@ukloukloiy That completely misses why people don't like multiplayer being stapled onto singleplayer games. I like playing games with friends just fine, and in fact some modes like ME3's are pretty fun, but those are resources that could have gone to making the too-short single player campaigns of these games a little more robust. Instead, they do this so Sony or whichever company can gouge you on overpriced map pack DLC instead of developing something with substance. Especially in a game like this, where part of the fun is being an unstoppable god-killing machine taking on all comers, having 3 other "unstoppable god-killing machines" in the same room and having to compete with them takes a lot of the soul out of it. I, for one, hope that Skyrim serves as an example to future games that you can have a robust profitable single player game without some cash in multiplayer attached to it.

The homophobic response both the article is talking about and even in some of the comments here depresses me immensely. People act offended that there's a gay man on screen and he's an actual person? What does this say about our society when people can still be so openly bigoted in this day and age? However, the other reasons listed are exactly the problems I have with the game, minus one--the endings are just terrible. It may work for other media, but when a game features an ending that you have to work very hard to get, it should be a golden ending ala Mass Effect 2, not "well, things are arguably slightly less terrible than if you, the player, didn't spend an extra 20 hours doing side missions." I'm also quite annoyed with how everything has to be darker and edgier than before. Even FFXIII-2 has the same problem, overall a bit brighter than FFXIII's encroaching feeling of doom, but then a downer ending that only becomes more depressing if you go the extra mile to get the secret one. I like the Dark Knight trilogy a lot, but not every single work that comes out has to be dark and gritty, especially ones based around clearly escapist characters like Commander Shephard. The points about what this game says about the game industry are already made more eloquently in the article than I can repeat here, and I'm not sure EA will allow BioWare to redeem themselves. They'll bleed them dry then kill them like they always do.

One of my favorite composers, if not THE favorite. I don't really know much about music, but it's astounding that one of the best composers out there never had formal education on composition. I hope he continues to work on a wide variety of games. That includes a Vagrant Story remake/sequel in my dreams, but who knows if that'll ever happen.

Anyone else not notice any difference at all besides gamma on some of these? Well, the difference is small enough to be negligible on all of these.
