Maybe you have the component setting in the options set to RGB instead of YpbPr. Hook the ps2 up with composite and go into the ps2 options to check the component output setting.

Sigh...its my ps2...tried it on a different tv with my roommates ps2 using the AV cables and that system worked...switched to my system...nothing. I think having it go on a 3 year hiatus killed it. Especially since it is so loud compared to all the other consoles.

Considering the game is almost impossible to find.

Nowhere, nowhere can I find the game and no where is the game talked about. It's ranked with II and III as worst usually, and yet it's always talked about with praise when I see anything about it.

I wanted to see what the big deal was, but it's impossible. THE SNES version is in *** so i can't read it. The GBA versions has high costs online.

Then there is the fact I don't ever see it in game stores, and the Playstation one collection thing CD is also way too much, if I find it online. On PSstore, they have 1 and 2 remade, III, which was also remade for the DS I think I read in a magazine, 4, 6, 7, 8, and 9. With ten up and coming.

It's like Square is trying to bury the game. So since I am never probably going to get to play it, what do you think of it?

What makes it such a bad game? Maybe some screens or something, since it seems I am not going to be able to find it at anypoint in the near future. I heard it was the game that introduced the job system and much of the game is based off it.

Do you by chance own a PS3 my good sir?

Ok...I understand that there is google...But I'm getting no where with it at the moment...every search is turning up ps3 stuff which is completely irrelevant to what I want.

Ok here is the problem. I just found my ps2 slim after about 2-3 years of not playing. I was estactic to play this machine again and I knew that with it sitting for so long it may not function properly. First turn it on...really loud...I didn't use any vga outputs...I just turned it on to hear it.  I take it apart...not the metal plating, but the fan and give the fan a good cleaning and cleaned other areas where necessary.

Next I put it back together...put the component cables in (Which I tested with my ps3 to see if they work on my tv and they did) turned the system on, still very loud and no video.

So the output problem is within the ps2 slim itself....would I possibly have to go get a sautering tool to fix this issue?

Either way...if anyone else has experienced this problem and has found ways to get their system up and running again I would like feedback. The only thing that might be tricky for me is getting that metal protective plating off the motherboard...those screws feel like they have loctite. (Yeah I did once attempt to take the metal plating off but I gave up for fear of putting too much pressure on the motherboard trying to loosen a screw)

I'm pretty biased to the Final Fantasy universe lol

And I'm very biased to the SNES gems. Chrono Trigger, Final Fanasy IV, V, VI, Super Mario RPG

[QUOTE="Iblis-Trigger"]The best platforming trio I can think of. Bringing in great favorites that will be cherished for all time. But as it stands, only one can be the best. Which would go to the constant quality of Crash Bandicoot in my opinion. The games are just too good and offer everything you want. Even when Sierra publishing tried to mess the series up, it was impossible. the core gameplay of the game can't be manipulated into a bad game. There's not one actual bad crash game. On the spin-off side, with the exception of one game (DS boom bang) there are also no bad games either. The Spin-off of the other two usually trail between boring to repetitious, or just plain awful. I had to replay many games to come to this conclusion, but crash has always been the complete package. The best stage design of them all, the games always feel fresh, amazing boss fights, the unchangeable highlight, the personality of the characters, the superior sound tracks and animation, the way the worlds are created, the tight controls. etc. Even now after 1 1/2 tome of absence, still holds up over the competition. But that's just me, how about you?amari24
1. Spyro 2. Rayman 3. Sonic 4. Mario 5. Crash

Exactly this...Crash was very meh imo.

While I'd love to say that older games because of my nostalgia I just can't.

Game experiences and technology have come so far it is unbelievable the kinds of places where you could go now. For instance...I have a Logitech GT Pro Steering Wheel and GT5...its the closest thing I can get to actually getting behind the wheel of a Lamborghini without experiencing the G-Forces in the corners. Yeah...it won't get to the real thing, but also look at a game series like Borderlands...It is my favorite FPS of all time. The kinds of places you could go and level design is outstanding.

Not saying old games have terrible design...look at the usual suspects...Metroid, DKC, Mario, Zelda, Sonic...etc.

But they are nearly as immersive as some games today. I'll always play the classics...because they are really fun, but they really can't stand toe to toe with well developed games of today.

The only thing the PS4 has over PCs is overhead resources...or actually lack thereof.

Sony will keep the OS as simple as they come so that processing can go all for gaming. Other than that PCs will always be better than consoles in terms of performance. Quite honestly I just prefer consoles for their simplicity.

[QUOTE="my_name_is_ron"]I think the star fox franchise has been really poorly treated by Nintendo.nameless12345

If you think so you should take a look at how neglected F-Zero is.

Nintendo have literally the best futuristic arcade racing series in existence yet refuse to do anything with it...

I would argue Wipeout...but I'll save that for a different thread.

Star Fox, the space-shooter series with your favorite furry space pilots by Nintendo has just turned 20 years old this year. I can't believe it. So, since this great series has just turned the big 2-0 this year, I'd like to know what your favorite game in the series is. My favorite is 64, but what's your fav in the series? Yes, you can say Star Fox 2 if you want because you can play the game on an emulator or get a reproduction cart off the web. Well, please let me know. Thanks! :D

GSJones1994

Star Fox 64 3D...It makes for a great eye spectacle see the lasers and planes fly around on with the 3D effects.

Then I would personally have to say the original Star Fox for the SNES. While it is pretty tough to play today I really love that soundtrack and the sound effects used in the game.
