@SirNormanislost I understand what you are saying. But Wii U is side stepping those MW, Halo, BF titles for PS4 and 720 all together. It all depends on Wii U's launch and support. Wii U has more power than the PS3 and 360 from what I have read. What if it costs cheaper to make a title for Wii U than for even the PS3 and 360? There's no guarantee that PS3 and 360 can play all the 3rd party titles. Wii U has a peripheral unique to it. Some indie developers love that stuff. In addition, there still are people out there who don't have a gaming console, there's people who dun have a ps3 or 360. What if the Wii U is priced so much cheaper than the PS4 and 720? This is a very similar scenario as to last gen launch, except this time, developers can't afford to make titles for PS4 and 720.The console will always have an install base, people see mario they buy it, smash bros they will buy it, zelda title, they will buy it.
I think Wii U is going in the right direction. A lot of studios recently closed down because it simply costs too much to develop games for next-gen. On top of that they are raising the graphics bar too? It will cost even more! If Wii U has good launch and good support, I can see a lot of start ups and a lot of developers jumping on to this train. Good games can happen without amazing graphics.
@Sepewrath Yes the industry is bigger than before, but the games that survive and keep getting all the money are your halos, CODs, BF, big name titles that swallow up the rest. Very soon, you won't see a new AAA title on the shelves.
Used games don't count towards game sales numbers. When the game doesn't sell as well as the publisher forsees, the project goes to another developer, or kills the franchise entirely. The previous developer drys up and shuts down.None of the used game money goes back to the people who make the games. It just goes to Gamestop. If you enjoyed a game please keep it and tell your friends to buy a copy, or better yet go buy them a copy.
