@02050muh: ??? I just checked... 34,000 people playing bf4 right now just on pc how's that even close to a ghost town? BF3 has 7000 on PC at the moment. I'd say pretty good considering the age of the game. Am I just missing sarcasm here?
@psn_m1nat3k: and then there's the question whether the ps4 can even really bring anything all that amazing to the table. It's like 6-8 times less powerful than the leading gpus from the red and green teams. (nvidia and amd) Also you have to keep in mind the requirement for higher frame rates so you'll have to take a step back from where the consoles are right now. Consoles aren't always about the pure power needed and I'm not saying interesting things can't happen but I'm VERY unsure as sony does not have a good rep when it comes to their own peripherals. This is why I'm doing a wait and see approach but I expect I'll eventually be going with either the occulus or the vive. (leaning towards occulus as I don't plan on walking around a room with cables attached.)
I initially was all about the vr. Definitely interested but I'm thinking I'm going to wait for that experience I can't go without. (cough vr mmo (or just rpg) cough) When that time comes I'll go with the best most complete version. I still think the ps4 is too low powered to bring anything all that amazing to the table. I expect it'll be one of the pc versions to push me into vr.
@neowarrior793: I really don't see it being that inexpensive... and if it is will it even be worth the price? You gotta remember you're putting these screens very close to your eyes and if it's too low in resolution it'll look terrible but hey maybe they'll surprise me... but I don't see sony losing money on hardware in the shape their in right now.
Once we have all the vr goggles are out with pricing I'll buy the best version with the best support. I would pay $600 for it if I had the cash laying around but I don't atm... just means time to save.
ahh so interplay is holding the cash. I read one article that was saying GoG did (not here) and that just doesn't fit with my picture of CD Project Red (they own GoG) so yeah makes more sense.
It's fair in a sense... definitely legal... smart? No. Japan's business models are conservative and the idea of free digital content doesn't sit well with many there. Heck digital content in general doesn't sit well with the country. It's why digital sales were so slow in coming for manga and anime here. A few major authors/artists still refuse to let their stuff show in anything but the print version. There's good reason for it but it's like the period just before itunes took the scene you have to bend or you lose out. You can't just stick with what worked in the past. Culturally that may be something harder to swallow there than here. Still love nintendo but the way they deal with this stuff is obtuse to say the least.
I've got to say I understand why they're reviewing it as it is but it better be updated once it's fixed or this review is totally irrelevant. My guess? It won't be... they should have just waited until it was. We're in the day and age of online games and things are going to happen. If we don't start getting real betas for console games it'll just continue like this. Betas are a requirement for these sorts of things.. Time to freaking stop worrying about lost sales and let people touch the thing first so we know if it'll work in the wild right now. Starting to think they should treat these games as if they were mmos and give it a month first. I'm not apologizing for 343 but I've been around the block when it comes to mmos... the first month always has problems and it has very little to do with the actual quality of the game itself. This is a temporary issue that we have hints that it will be fixed by next week... absolutely absurd to wright a review now when you can't test the whole game correctly. I guess deadlines are deadlines but seriously... Think about someone reading this in a year and going wha?
