@kazeswen: Denuvo has blackened a lot of eyes, so there will not be any winking for the foreseeable future for most top tier titles. There are still some AAA devs and most Indies releasing DRM free.

@wtf_666: I've been playing GTA IV and V in VR using VorpX and a few other mods. GTA V has native head tracking; decoupled aiming, walking and looking with GTA VR Mod; and someone is working on hand tracking with the hydra supported so far and more to come. VorpX supports none standard pc resolutions such as 1600x1800 (8:9) which makes it look nearly native besides the lower quality of the dk2 showing pixels (barely a issue for me.)

An 8:9 resolution cuts out a lot of wasted pixels by providing a resolution within the dimensional view of the rift screen and optics. This also decreases PC overhead so i can up the quality to make it fully playable and stable. That's just with unsupported games. There are a lot of supported games in Steam already. There are better video cards around the corner that will make the experience even more fulfilling.

@PDAisAok: Every dev isn't going to target motion anyway. Valve has their own Steam controller so it's not like they will be out of the game if games support standard input. It's also not an issue for games to support two different input types out of the box especially knowing that even PSVR will have motion controls and standard controls. Even Gear VR will have motion controls soon. Still, motion isn't necessary for every game.

@PDAisAok: The Motion controls aren't that different when it comes to implementation. A few companies already have the Touch controllers and they've mentioned that it's fairly simple to adapt the controls to both systems.

You're getting extras for that extra cost. Just the stuff coming over from Gear VR and the exclusives is worth it. I never heard that it would be less than $300. They said a bit more than the price of the dev kit originally which was $350, and then that said it would cost more a few months leading up to the release.

@Marky360: How about giving us evidence of people complaining about the Consumer Rift or Vive? I haven't heard a complaint about that yet. We're not talking google Cardboard here. If you don't want to try it, your loss. I was actually dizzy first trying to dk2, but that heavily depended on the game (mostly hl2 which wasn't converted properly) and developers used the "Dev Kit" to find out what the issues were and eliminate them.

Motion controllers were never implemented properly nor were they accurate other than the Move. VR will change that since they have a much more necessary purpose in that environment. I actually use the Wii and Kinect (light-gun and hand\voice gestures) to play games on the PC (using Glovepie). I also watch 3D movies and play 3D games (3D Vision) with my projector. I was just destroying someones argument about 3D. There are a bunch of movies that were just released on Blu-ray and many more coming to theaters. You can also watch 3D movies on a giant IMAX in VR.

Blu-Ray: http://www.blu-ray.com/3d/

Coming to Theaters: http://pro.boxoffice.com/statistics/3d-release-calendar

VR is incomparable to both technologies and both have been implemented to drive VR forward (motion controls, 3D environments). It's here to stay. I try not to skimp out on life being a naysayer and Luddite. Do what you want in life, i hope others will not be afraid to experience something amazing with a premium VR HMD.

@lostn: If you are in the PC gaming section of this site and don't have an expensive gaming rig already, you're doing it wrong.

@Marky360: Try it before you complain. You people sound foolish. And it's targeted at areas well beyond gaming, like huge movie screens and 360 photos to start. They even have VR movies that completely surrounds you. You can also stand and walk around if you want though it's not necessary to truly get the experience. They have motion controls that allow you to truly interact with any environment. Motion sickness was a concern for the dev kit. Nobody has complained about motion sickness with the consumer version.

@Marky360: I think it would be wise to actually try it before continuing on with your rant. I'm not worried about how i look; I have very good taste in fashion. We are talking about a VR HMD though, not the latest Jordans. You should take a look at their motion controls too, they are a far more useful and accurate than Kinect or Wii. Sony has always had highly accurate motion controls so they are actually using it with the PSVR. With all that said, please try it first. I have a DK2, so i don't need explanations beyond someone telling me that they've tried it, and i still don't like it. Even with that, it can only be fairly judged once the final version is released to consumers.
