Unfortunately the third instalment is mediocre at best. DS2 was genuinely terrifying and the story personal, gripping, and psychologically disturbing. DS3 felt more like gears of war, with much less scares, forgettable story, and less enemy types most of which are recycled.
@elancion I guess I have been misunderstood. I personally do not care if they remake FF7 or not. I am speaking from a business perspective, that if I were to invest time and money to remake a chapter I will go for one that I know will sell and solve (part of) my financial problems. The could remake Vagrant Story and they will know it will sell like crazy.
They probably should have invested in remaking FF7 instead of remaking every other FF title out there and that alone would have both satisfied their older fans and their wallets.
It fascinates me how Square love milking the FF brand. How many remakes and remakes of remakes do we need? Also I am sure someone already commented how all FF games have been remade except chapters 7, 8, and 9.
