[QUOTE="Mugzippit"]Can't everyone just ignore the 2 facts that are actually biased opinions and consider the two actual facts here? These two are NOT facts, they are simply the opinion of the Robotapple and can be ignored since telling someone their opinion is wrong is just a waste of time. "360 has gotten the better muliplats all gen" "their franchises are either shallow cinematic titles and Nintendo knockoffs like battle royale, and little big planet karting." However: The Company has also been declared junk bond status (http://www.joystiq.com/2012/11/22/sony-credit-rating-downgraded-to-junk-by-fitch/) They lost nearly all their marketshare this gen (side note: "nearly all of" isn't really accurate but lets look at some facts/official figures) I'm going to start by saying that based on the information i put forward, both these facts are true. Sony has recently been given junk bond status (although this is Sony overall and can't be attributed to the just the gaming area or the performance of the PS3) this might change in the future but as far as anyone could be concerned, at the time that I post this, this is true. As for market share I'm going to simply compare Sony's performance in prior generations to the current generation. When comparing the PS2 to the PS3, the number of consoles sold has dropped dramatically. Sony recently hit 77 million consoles sold on the PS3, according to that article on GameSpot mentioned earlier, but comparing that figure to 155 million PS2 consoles sold? (PS2 sales figure is at the bottom of this: http://www.sbs.com.au/news/article/1735312/Sony-to-announce-launch-of-new-PlayStation). Granted no console has ever reached the same number of sales as the PS2 but with just these figures it could be said that Sony has lost half its market share, although I can't back up this estimate. With the PS4 coming out that people will jump on the PS3 (which probably won't be at the end of its lifespan even with the PS4 coming out) so there is a chance that the gap between the PS2 and 3 shrinks a bit but at the moment, Sony will need to sell around 25 million more consoles just to match the original PlayStation, standing at 103 million sales, let alone the PS2. While the PlayStation 3 must have performed at an acceptable level since Sony is still supporting it and releasing a successor, It's future in the gaming industry could be seen as questionable due to its junk bond status (which can scare away potential investment) and the amount of negativity from gaming journalists following the PS4 unveiling. Granted gaming journalists are a difficult bunch which will prefer to highlight the negative (or positive if they feel they can get away with the bias) side of any news unless there is a bribe in the works somewhere but that's just my opinion on the reliability of gaming journalists in general. I'm sure Sony could perfect their marketing at E3 and some journalist somewhere will call it a failure! Anyway answering the title of the topic, Did Sony loose $4 billion throughout the lifespan of the PS3? I honestly can't find anything that supports this (if you can please bring it up!) and while the Vita might not be performing well at the moment, Sony has done some big things to help it, like the price cut in Japan leading to its sales quadrupling (according to the article GameSpot posted on the subject) and its incorporation into the PS4 shown at the unveiling. So will Sony rise, fall or stay as it is over the next few years? Who knows? I expect E3 to be the next big step for Sony so lets wait and see how things unfold and as always, Time will tell. For the benefit of flamers I've taken care to ensure all the arguments above are solely focused on Sony and I haven't mentioned any of its competitors. I apologize in advance for any bias that anyone perceives.DJS28
Good post, people should follow this example. Information backed with sources.

Thank you, its nice to know some people appreciate the effort! So many people on these forum's just shout out answers based on what they believe in without actually backing it up with something.

It might be a well made game and I'll probably end up getting it at some point but its the legacy, not the game, that people will remember. Rayman Legends was a launch title exclusive for the Wii U which ended being delayed, made multiplatformed and caused the developer to leave Ubisoft. If Ubisoft came clean about why they chose to delay the Wii U version, even if they stated that it would be multiplatform at the same time (which I'd noticed people saying prior to the delay), then things would look a bit brighter for them.

There was Final Fantasy 12 Revenant Wings on the DS which was a RTS. it was pretty basic and the battles ran quite slowly but the stylus touchpad combo worked fine and made an enjoyable experience. given the more power and the bigger touchpad, RTS on the Wii U is more of a possiblity then it has been on consoles before.

I'm not sure I have a distinct favourite but I'm going to go for Kamek. Hes the smart powerful magikoopa that has shown real loyalty to Bowser. despite Bowser's idiocy!) throughout Mario's history. While he will mock Mario from time to time he does show respect for him and is never afraid to back down from fighting nor of actually dying as he did in sticker star (my favourite battle in that entire game as its the only boss fight that isn't against baby Bowser or against a boss with 300+ life and a specific weak point).

I loved how he's an enemy in Super Mario RPG, since hes being brainwashed, but upon being defeated will immediately apologie for attacking Mario, Bowser and co and proceed to give Mario a source of infinite coins.

Kammy Koopa (his Paper Mario equivalent) was also an amusing addition although personality-wise Kamek was better.

Luigi's dream interpretation of Fawfal. Even if hes just a boss on the side (like the shroobs in Bowser's Inside Story) he has to be in there somewhere! Considering its within Luigi's dreams, they could bring back cameo's of any character within the mario and luigi series...

I agree with slipknot. the Wii U will be fine once it gets out the next generation of all their flagship games. At the moment they only have Super Mario Bro's U but once they bring out the next in the mario 64 series, the Wii U's popularity should rise with it.While the PS4 did have a very strong unveiling yesterday it left lots of unanswered questions (the estimated selling price and if it has a monthly subscription being the biggest in my opinion) but i guess they still have E3 to give details. I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo tries to counter the PS4 with a price cut to the WiiU seeing as with the current economic situation, people would go for the cheaper option with similar, if graphically inferiour i'll admit, experiences.

With the upcoming 3ds games, including pokemon X/Y, Fire Emblem Awakening and MnL Dream Team, the 3ds's Library of games is looking really solid right now so getting a 3ds now is a good idea! I'm looking at getting the 3ds XL fire emblem bundle thats coming to europe in April.

To be honest its about time Nintendo released a major pokemon game for the 3ds.

I actually got both of them when i bought by 3ds and I'd recommend starting on Super Mario 3d land if you have played OoT before. I really love the LoZ remake but It just that, a remake. I've noticed a couple of comments comparing 3d land to galaxy but they really can't be compared. Galaxy is a successor to the Mario 64 series of games while 3d Land is a successor for the Super Mario Bro's series. the game follow the basic design of every Mario bros game except its in a full 3d environment Mario 64 style.

On saying this if you haven't played OoT before then go for that one. It might not have aged perfectly since its original release but it was one of, if not the, the best games of its time for good reason.

3. Charmander & Charizard

4. Metagross

5. Volcarona

6. Resharim

I feel guilty for leaving Ninetails out of this list....

Fennekin (the X/Y fire starter) also looks kinda cool
