EU release is today! If any EU's here already has their copy (I'm still waiting for post to arrive :( ) put some spoiler free first impressions on here!
Slight edit: my copy literally just arrived less then 3 minutes after posting this xD
RTS games. Pikmen 3 looks awesome but I'd love to see a basebuilding RTS game using the gamepad. The DS did RTS really well with FF12 Revenant Wings and I'd love to see the Wii U add more to that area since consoles to date haven't really been compaitble with RTS when compared to the mouse and keyboard of the PC.
Maybe a RTS advance wars cartoony sort of style..... That would be pretty awesome
Im going to go with gameplay mechanics because I really want to see what the gamepad can do with RTS. I really enjoyed revenant wings on the DS although it was far too slow paced. While the gamepad probably isn't as good as a mouse/keyboard for RTS, it has potential to do what no console has ever really done well before.
I'd imagine a price cut happening with a major launch after 2013 so my money is when Mario Kart comes out. Dunno by how much though, I'll agree with KBFolYd and say around $50.
Earlier this year at Best Buy's across the USA, Nintendo made several playable demos available for following upcoming games.
Super Mario 3D World The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD Mario Kart 8 Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze
Has Nintendo made any comment about if (and/or when) these demo's will be available for download via the Eshop, especially outside of the USA since we haven't had a chance to sample these games?
Toon link might be kept due to the HD remake of Wind Waker...
I think Marth and Ike will go with Chrom from Awakening replacing them.
I wouldn't be surpised if Lucario gets replaced with another major movie pokemon (or possibly the new forme for Mewtwo)
Personally I hope they radically change as many characters as possible. we can just go back onto brawl to play the characters that aren't in the upcoming Wiiu/3ds versions. Gotta love backwards compatibility!
Massive Chalice, War of the overworld and A Hat in Time. All 3 games won me over for a modest backing towards development
Would recommend a Hat in Time if you haven't seen it before. A lot of work has gone into it so far with no budget. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/jonaskaerlev/a-hat-in-time-3d-collect-a-thon-platformer?ref=live
How about if Nintendo made it that for games that don't use the gamepad in a way that makes it a requirement to play the game, it could operate seperately to the game. I'm pretty sure MS and Sony stated the Xbox 1 and the PS4 can pause games and then go onto other functions. What if with the Wii U you could pause a game on the TV and use the tablet to do other things, i.e. the internet browser?
