Not showering or brushing your teeth is bad hygiene. But why does everyone say facial hair is bad hygiene?

[QUOTE="MonsterVision"]It can work.foxhound_fox
But can't be a lucrative business for the majority of the industry's developers.

It doesn't have to be the Majority that buys it. As long as it has a decade life-span, it will profit because developers evolve every few years or so. And with a 10 year life-span, developers would get very used to the hardware. It took developers too much time to get used to the PS3 hardware, and now the gen is almost over.

Good luck making profitable games. Progress has to be tempered with business strategy and budgeting. Just putting all the best tech into a console and expecting developers to cure cancer with it isn't a sound strategy.

The Neo Geo lasted from 1990 and discontinued in 2004. It was 24-bit before 16 bit was even popular. It can work.

Progress is for PC. Consoles are for refinement of what already exists.foxhound_fox
true, but what I'm saying is that it doesn't have to be that way.

I would buy an $800 console if I knew the tech would be 2-3 gens ahead of this one. Price is holding back progress, and it's not just Nintendo at fault here. Hypothetically, would you rather buy a $300 console every 4-5 years, or an $800 one with a lifespan of 10 years? thoughts?

[QUOTE="MonsterVision"][QUOTE="moose_knuckler"]Isn't the iron sights just for the Hammerburst?waltefmoney

possibly

Possibly? It's a fact.

It's only slightly been mentioned in interviews. It's kind of odd to think only one weapon will have iron sight, but I refute OP if this is true.

Not having Iron Sights is one of the reasons why the shooting in Gears of War is so fun, however Gears of War 3 gunplay looks like COD. Anyone else dissapointed by this?

Cosoles are going to be higher priced next gen. The wii U won't be any where near $250(I don't think). The controller itself is going to be pricey. Pack thta in with more advanced tech and you have a pricey console. Sony showed that you can compete with an expensive console, it just isn't the business move you want to do every generation.

The reason Sony has been successful in the first place, was because their PS1 was priced at $299, while the Sega Saturn was $399. If the PS1 was priced at $600, I think Sega would still be making consoles today.

There was a little more to it than that. At the time, Blu ray players cost more than $600. When you think of the deal you got with the ps3, it really was a bargain.

It was, but people didn't want to buy blue ray discs when they were content with their dvd player + DVD's were $10 cheaper of the same movie. Nowadays, things have changed obviously
