You can basically make a computer that runs any game for around 500 bucks... most games for around 400 and some games for around 300-350 If you don't know how to make a computer (which it happens to be pretty easy, the only thing complicated about it is matching up parts), you can buy one that has some decent parts and upgrade it some with a new video card... Check out newegg.com cuz they have really good prices... I build systems for myself as well as friends and family, and I always buy from them since it is just about the lowest prices you can get...

3 times a year is exaggerated... I got mine a month after launch and have only seen the rrod 1 time a year and a half later.

Basically that's what it boils down to... I own all the systems, but have more games for the 360 cuz they're slightly better and easier to play with friends online...

The whole idea that the graphics will look that much better on the ps3 is baloney... the extra space for the blu-ray discs can only help the graphics be more detailed to a certain extent... just because the raw data can be stored does not mean it can all be processed. With every system there are some drawbacks to cranking up the quality, mainly performance. They have to strike a balance between graphics and framerate, and since the ps3 has limited memory and graphics processing power, they can only use so much data at a time. However, the blu-ray space can contribute to actual game content, so longer games can be made, or games with more levels, more fighters, more weapons, more enemies, etc can be stored without the need for multiple discs... On that respect they have an advantage, but really any game that can be made for the PS3 can also be made for the 360, since the only real difference is the programming model for the cpu's... which controls AI, physics, etc. But games like Metal Gear Solid 4 would have been on a few discs

The problem with your statement necromantic, is that you think they're trying to completely annihilate the 8800gtx. Right now it looks as though they're just trying to build up a reasonable family of video cards. Right now, for the price, these cards rock hard. AMD is trying to ensure that the "Mainstream" users choose their video cards, mainly by positioning them in better price ranges. If they would release anything that would knock the pants off NVidia, then those graphics cards would cost easily 700+. Looking at the financial performance of AMD/ATi, its understandable that they're trying to create products like these, not crazy expensive (that only the people with cash to burn would get), but something that would perform well for how much you pay.

Paabss. Obviously you don't know much, because a good overclocker could take the AMD cpu, which is half the price as the Intel, and make it run faster for a lot less money.

If you pay attention to episode 2 it references the science institute from portal...it could be a hint to potential gameplay cross-over...and in portal the slide shows demonstrate some competition between them and black mesa... could be a hint...that would be pretty cool... Just wish I hadn't beat episode 2 in 2.5 hours and portal in 2...wish it lasted a bit longer :( Still great though

Actually I can build a 500 dollar pc that will run it at max settings... My pc cost me 800 dollars to make but that's only cuz I did my own raid 0, added an 8800gts and an extra gig of memory... The reason why the PC is worth it, is because it will always be better than a console because you can upgrade. If you upgrade correctly you only need to upgrade maybe 100-300 every 3 years... depending on the games that come out. ----- I should mention though that I do own the 360 so its not that I don't like it. I just know from experience that although the 360 is great, the potential of the PC is always greater than that of the 360...

X1050 isn't a good video card...its a little more than an onboard. These cards are good, although the higher the better: ATI: X700, X800, X1600 X1800 X1900, X2600, X2900 (X700 and X800 are more capable video cards than your X1050 because they have more memory and more processing power) NVIDIA 6600, 6800, 7600, 7800, 7900, 8600,8800 The video cards you should stay away from is: for ATI X-Model Video Cards: Anything less than X700, X1000-1300, X2000-2400 (these cards really aren't good enough for modern games. They are more for just having a video card to do not too demanding applications on the computer, like having windows display on a larger resolution (not 3d Games though)... for NVIDIA cards, anything not mentioned in the list above is usually designed for the same way as the lower end ATI cards... The bottom line is you should check reviews of the video cards that your looking to buy. You can buy good cards at good prices, but don't go to cheap or you'll just be wasting your money...

3 gbs is excessive...2 gbs plays really smooth on vista and 1 gb should be good enough for xp... the graphics card however will need to be upgraded... you can get a Geforce 8600gt or 2600xt for about 100-150 dollars and be able to run well. 1 gb of ram goes for round 40...
