Oh great! I actually dread the Steam Summer Sale. I have 170 games in my Steam library, because of these sales. Some deals are just to good to pass up. I have yet to even try a bunch of games.

I like to try all types of classes when I start a new game. I do tend to like the assassin sneaky types also. I just love sneaking behind someone and landing a devastating hit. I also do enjoy warrior types, either greatsword or dual-wielding.
I remember finishing the Snes version years ago. I was excited to learn of this game which was funded through kickstarter. It releases soon, on July 25 through Steam, and is only $17.99. Best of all, it features a map editor so we can create our own content. This is only releasing for PC however.

I tried Vindictus. It has good combat, but be prepared to grind the same dungeons over and over. I am currently playing Nevrwinter, which I feel is far superior to Vindictus. Neverwinter is also an action combat MMO.
I also highly prefer DA:O over DA 2. Origins was one of my all time favorite games. I was very disappointed in DA 2. Though it did have some good features, it had too many misses for me. The top of the list is the constantly re-used areas. It drove me nuts. I am still planning on picking up DA 3 though.
I agree with every game on your list. I often wish alot of series hadn't ended where they did. Here is a few more I would like to add.
Tactics Ogre/ Ogre Battle
Suikoden
Breath of Fire
Shadow Hearts
Wizardry
Ultima
Lufia
Star Ocean
Lunar
I'm sure Ive forgotten some.
I always viewed Nintendo as more family and kid friendly, as they have always seemed to have more games geared towards a younger crowd. This is both good and bad for me. I do enjoy games like Zelda and Dragon Quest, and games like Mario Party/ Mario Kart for family play. However, I do like more mature and violent games also, which is why I have a ps3 and Xbox 360. I guess I kind of viewed the Wii U as a console families would buy, not so much a single gamer. I know the kids want a Wii U for Christmas this year, I was just hoping Dragon Quest X comes out in time.
Other than those stated above like borderlands, (if you don't like shooters), I would recommend the tales games. Most notably Tales of Xillia which is coming out in August. I have the Japanese version, and thoroughly enjoy it. However, the coop is limited to battles. You can't coop while running around, conversing with npc's and such. I played through Tales of Vesperia with my step son this way, and he didn't have any complaints.
I used to be the type of person who can sink 5 hours a day into an mmo. However, in the last few years, every mmo I try quickly loses its appeal. I think one contributing factor is the bland questing. Honestly, how many times can you repeat the "Kill X number of Y monsters" or "Collect X number of Y"quests? There are a few games I have played until max level, but those are few and far between. I keep searching online for anything new, and have tried a few betas, but nothing has kept me playing. Arch Age does look interesting though. Its as if I have an mmo itch that will never be scratched. Sometimes I think the perfect mmo for me doesn't exist.
Its become a trend now to mean linear=bad, anywayz the first few bits are somewhat linear but opens up later, also why would you want an open world game in a driven narrative, are you expecting side quest and NPC double XP favour quest or what, its an adventure game and mots adventure games are linear, they have always been since the days of Mario side scrollers, Jeez. If you cannot enjoy a really good game, go read a book

I guess there always has to be one rude comment when you ask a simple question. Anyway, I do love the game as I stated. I am further in and am used to the linear fashion. It is simply an amazing game. Some of the best acting I have witnessed so far. Thank you for all the responses.
