Sad to say but none of those games really interest me. How can they compete with games like Fry Cry 2, Gears of War 2, and Resistance 2? I'm just not a big fan of the japanese style games other then Zelda TP, Metroid Prime, and Super Mario Galaxy, but I've already beat those games many times. I'm not being a fanboy but without the top notch first party titles like SMG and Zelda TP the Wii can't compete with the big games like GTA 4, Halo 3, and MGS 4.xXHackettXxNow you know exactly how most Wii owners feel about the other systems. ;)

It's not a Red Ocean product, DSi is targeting the the consumer that want to use it as a tool. DS 3 [QUOTE="article"] Phase three is all about the product becoming a tool for such a non-customer. This means the DS will be given non-gaming additions. This is not unlike the Wii having a Weather Channel and News Channel, for example. Music playback and likely firmware that allows it to be used as a tool, such as a cookbook or a navigation guide in airports and other areas, fit the ‘distant user’ very well. People could buy the DS as a tool for those things and get into gaming in a more roundabout way. The "distant user" is the 3rd phase of the Blue Ocean strategy. DSi is not meant to compete to anything at all. Another interesting article/blog post: Reggie confirms DSi is a Blue Ocean productSince the DSi will have faster downloads and a built-in browser, I would like to know how fast is its CPU. Perhaps the higher price may have to do with the faster CPU and other features.
As for "Red Ocean," I did not know that the DSi will be competing against the Xbox 360 and PS3.

yes it was,
for me at least. Why nintendo never released it stateside was nuts if you ask me
It was released via Virtual Console, at least.[QUOTE="MagnuzGuerra"]Yes, too much focus on cinematics, graphics, and story. Thankfully, some companies are realising that and are going back to their roots.Nirron
The first two I'll agree with, but the third...really? A focus on story in my eyes is only a good thing. Heck, I might have picked up a lot more shooters if any of them had decent stories other than Deus Ex (though I acknowledge the entire Halo collection is impressive, but the way they tell the story in the games themselves seems a bit, well, weak) and BioShock to an extent. I mean sure, if you are horrible at storytelling (see: Epic) then I can understand, but how can we consider a good in-depth story a bad thing?
I don't consider Bioshock a great game at all. It's story doesn't save it from being a average, walk in the park shooter. It's a interesting story, yes, but that doesn't make the game better (as a shooter). Deus Ex is an RPG, despite the shotter elements. Maybe I'm like that because I'm from a time were finishing the game was the achievement and that was the point in games. But even if games have good stories, it's not the best media for that. You have better ways to tell a good story (books and movies for example).
