Well, i live in Brazil, and things are kind of messy in here. Our currency ir the Real, and 1 dollar = more or less 2.30 Reais. Those import taxes are really **** as you will see.

The 360 is the only next-gen console officially in Brazil, that is not imported. It sell for R$ 3000, ($ 1304 dollars), and it's the premium version with PD0, Kameo and PGR3 packed-in. The imported 360 goes for R$2000 ($870). The 360 has done fairly well, way better than the first XBOX, which did really poor around here.

The PS3 goes from R$ 4000 to R$ 7500 ($1740 to $3260 dollars). It doesn't look like it's selling a lot, because it's way way way too much expensive. PS3 being expensive in the US is a joke compared to it being expensive here. The PS1 and the PS2 did very well, but almost no one bought original games for it, they all bought pirated games, so, even though the PS2 did very well, Sony did badly around here. The PSP goes for R$900 ($390), and it's doing pretty well.

The Wii goes from $1400 (The price i bought mine) to $2400 ($600 to $1040), and from the look of things, it'll do pretty well. There are a lot of people interested in it. The DS goes for R$600 ($260), and i'd say it's the most popular current gen console around here, even though it doesn't look as it's doing as well as the GBA did.

The PC is doing great as usual, and most poeple play their "next-gen" games in it. It's the only one with lots of original (not imported) games for it.

Yes, gaming is pretty hard down here.

I'm from Brazil too... Waiting until March to buy my Wii, when the price comes down.
