@Jdzspace: Glad we can have a calm discussion about this. Shame about DS though. What games do you play then?

@Jdzspace: I think that the games definitely left their mark, its just that they're new ip's that are still being experimented with. Plus platformers were never huge to begin with, the market is saturated with shooters and explosions. (Not always a bad thing, Halo 5 is a great game.) Unfortunately, Fable and Crackdown are simply ok games and Fable has kinda gone down hill. I'm hoping future additions of the series will get better. As for the new upcoming games I mentioned, we don't know if they'll stand out or not yet. From what i've seen and experienced from Platinum Games, Scalebound is sure to be good.

Also, why the lack of interest towards Bloodbourne? Definitely a great game and change of pace from the Souls series should you enjoy those.

@Jdzspace: Not to defend any console fan over another, the Xbox One has plenty of exclusives that have done well. Sunset Overdrive, Ori and the Blind Forest, and tons of new incoming indie games like Cuphead and Below. Also include Scalebound which is made by Platinum Games, the new Crackdown and that RARE Replay collection. Xbox has its fair share of fun and exclusive IPs.

Game has been getting much hate that isn't really deserved. Sure it sucks that there is no splitscreen, but that is something that people need to get over. Obviously, people are using that to deduct points and probably using the whole optional ADS mechanic as it detracting away from the Halo experience, but in reality this game is a huge improvement from its predecessors. Playing all of the Halo games, I simply find this one to be the most fluid and satisfying one yet. The 60 fps was a great call, and the multiplayer is at it's highest.

I haven't tried the campaign yet, so I can't say how I feel about that, but I am a little annoyed that they're focusing on this new Locke guy, especially since I don't care for him. Didn't 343 state that this trilogy would focus on Chief and make him seem more human? Ranting aside, I don't really like the idea of taking over Locke should they have Chief depart. That would be a huge mistake. Either way, the game is excellent and people should stop complaining about things that cannot be done.

@knowledge2057: Clunky?? Probably one of the more fluid halo games, especially with a constant fps of 60. Definitely not clunky.

Some of the comments are painful to read. Halo 5 looks great, and the beta assured me of that. Sure, some things needed fixed but i'm sure they've been resolved by now. It's either people complain that it is the same game like COD or they bitch that the game isn't Halo anymore when they try to put in new things. ADS isn't even needed, it's just a nice tool to have and doesn't take away from the core Halo experience. Yes i've played through all the Halos. I still find 343 to be capable of making the series better.

@kazeswen: Er. No. You play as a different character each game. As for 4 Dark Souls games, no theres Demon Souls followed by two Dark Souls games and then Bloodbourne. Bloodbourne, while it may seem very similiar and yes it generally is in many regards. still feels like a completely different game from the Souls series. As for the armor, Demon Souls, Bloodbourne, and Dark Souls all have vasts amount of armor and weapons, the Souls series especially. I can see the dungeon point you make, though I would say that they are still different in their own right. (Dark Souls has had the best areas so far.)

Assassins Creed is weird, it seems that every other game does well but in between they have shitty ones. Personally, and this is my opinion, Dark Souls is able to keep the kind of gameplay and tone that they have created without getting tiring or dull. AC got very redundant to me after Black Flag and with all these other games coming out, I simply do not have the time nor the will to play anymore of them. However, Syndicate may become a part of my library at some point.
