Not close to the US in terms of military? You can't be serious. If China was backed into a corner it could nuke the US and they'd both lose. Additionally, China has a population far higher than the US - it's production capabilities are immense regardless of its growth potential. Furthermore, China's experimentation with SEZ's has shown that it is capable of a highly successful capitalistic economy (take Hong Kong for example). Clearly the US is ahead technologically but super accurate bombs and marginally more efficient means of production can't overcome such a massive population differenceBy what metric does it currently surpass the U.S.? I don't think that China has even passed the U.S. in terms of manufacturing output, though that will occur fairly soon. Military superpower? Not even close to the U.S. in terms of militaristic capabilities. Economic output?:lol::lol::lol: no.:| Long term growth potential? If (and it's a big "if") they manage to catch up to the U.S. in terms of economic output per capita, market competition won't allow them to jump far ahead of the pack. (and I think that policies of theirs would likely keep them a bit behind the pack...) I suppose that they have a bit of debt, but I'd hardly use that to qualify them as surpassing as a "superpower."

Russia's a shadow of the past
It doesn't matter - it has more than enough man power and nuclear weaponry to destroy the US, and vice versa. Of course, you could argue that they wouldn't use nukes but then to truly win you would have to occupy the country and the history of the US and occupation of foreign countries has always ended in disaster. (Furthermore, Russia is huge and the US simply does not have the manpower to occupy Russia and its allies)[QUOTE="MCGSMB"][QUOTE="jeremiah06"] First, the stepdad already agreed to look for the dog tomorrow. Second, dog =/= human child. Also what would you have the kid do? Strike his setpdad? Speak rudely to him? Get out of line? You lack any kind of empathy and will probably end up alone Yeah, because I wouldn't break my back trying to find his lost toothbrush/shovel/dog(all property) I'll end up alone... Sorry to disappoint you, but I'm already NOT alone.jeremiah06
Then you should be. You probably learned empathy as a parlor trick and live life without any conception of the feelings of other things. It's incredible how you can relate an inanimate object with something that can feel pain and fear and joy.
I can't get over how ugly that Kimg Jong Il is.He looks so happy for his team :)

Why shouldn't be the stepdads responsibility? He took it out, he was responsible for it's well being. Also you can't just replace a dog that easy since you build a bond with a particular dog. If you child died would you just say well I can always make another? First, the stepdad already agreed to look for the dog tomorrow. Second, dog =/= human child. Also what would you have the kid do? What I'm saying is don't expect the stepdad to care enough to got find the dog. If the dog dies he can buy another...jeremiah06
