so im a noob at coding just started yesterday. I bought a visual basic 2010 guide book and i am working on my first example/practis program. I keep getting this error in my code before i go to try to test it out. 'picShowPicture' is not declared. It may be inaccessible due to its protection level'. i have no idead what or how to fix this so i hope someone on here does. Here is a screen shot of the coding and error message.

Im new at programming i started learning Visual Basic today to start things off because i plan on going to college for this type of thing. I was just curious, which type of coding/language do you use to write and create Smart-phone apps in my case Blackberry apps. I know you have to pay to have them on the marketplace and what not but can you still create them for free just for the sake of practising and not release them?

Thanks in advance for any imput.

i know how to do the direct variation problems like this, Suppose W varies y directly and w= 10 when y=2 but i have a question about how you would do this example. Suppose W varies directly as the fifth power of Z, and W=96 when z= 2.

what should i put to the fifth power?
