Too Late!? No way, if anything, it's the perfect time. You can get it for relatively cheap, and there is a massive backlog of games to enjoy off the bat.
Not I... I am perfectly content with my PS3, and there are still tons of games I have yet to play for it, with more being released every day. Sure I am excited about the PS4, but my PS3 is perfectly fine, and I will still be playing and enjoying it still until even the PS5 comes out.
People need something to blame, it will always be this way. It is very sickening and unfair, but it will happen again and again. Tomorrow someone will run down the sidewalk with a football and tackling people yelling "Madden NFL 13 made me do it!"

I'm hoping to get The Witcher and The Witcher 2 as long as they are on sale. I don't even have a gaming PC, but I might as well start stocking up ofor when I do get one. Also may get Hotline Miami, and just watch for any good deals to pick up.
