It can be rare (not impossible) for a 20 hour game to be brilliant, outside of open world games and RPGs. BioShock Infinite is neither, although it will probably have elements of both those genres. Regardless, I think you missed my point, quality over quantity is more important. Even the best 20 hour game (or longer) has some padded on gameplay elements.

The lack of a multiplayer mode does not guarantee a long single player experience. I understand most believe multiplayer components takes away from single player development, but that is not always the case. Heck often both components (single and multiplayer) are handled by different teams so resources are divided equally. Regardless, the length of the experience is not what matters, it is the quality of the experience. I would rather have an amazing, brilliant 10 hour game than a repetitive and padded 20 hour game.

@accesdenied If this flops Capcom will probably hesitate even more to go back to the series roots as Revelations does play like the old Resident Evil games (and a little like part 4). Slower pace, less enemies, backtracking, and lite puzzles are all in Revelations. It is the closet we have gotten to an old school Resident Evil in years. If it does well, it would show Capcom this is where we want the series to go, back to it roots. I imagine you have not played it, but if you give it a chance you would see it is not Resident Evil 5 (have not played 6 yet).

@skunkpants Well if you don't have a PSP, that is a good reason to not have played it, hah. I tend to feel a bit apprehensive about portable games myself, especially "spinoffs" or side story games, thankfully Portable Ops was actually a good main game.

You can't compare Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops to Silent Hill Origins, which was not even developed by Konami or any of the original developers. If you never gave Portable Ops a shot, it really is your loss as it it a great game and not some half baked portable game in a popular series. Heck it even picks up where Metal Gear Solid 3 left off in terms of story, so it is no spin off or unrelated game in the series.
