It's been about 3 years since I reared my ugly head in GS forums, but life gets in the way sometimes. To those who remember me, good to see you again, those who don't...

Anyway, I purchased a Day One XB1 in a bundle with Dead Rising 3. I was really enjoying it, and had leveled up to level 25 and was playing through chapter 4 when one day it said I had to update with a 5gb download. I did, and after downloading and installing it promptly killed my game save. It lets me start a new story, or begin nightmare mode, but it simply crashes to the main menu when I try to load my save.

Anyone know of any workarounds or how to fix this? I already uninstalled and reinstalled the game, powered down the system and then restarted it, but still no luck. Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, shame on you indeed! Jeff is a SW legend. Haha. :P

It was a simpler time back then... All should know of the Gerstmann.

I love the fact that new DLC is coming, and that it's actually worth paying for. At least in my book it is.

I loved Fallout 3, and I was dying for more when it ended. Same goes for GTA4. Both were long enough, but a good narrative makes you want more, so to me it's great to see them come out because it extends the story well beyond the original story arc. Can't wait to DL this one. :)

Price is only an issue for me when I don't think I get my money's worth for a product. Which is why I definitely felt like I had thrown my money away for the first year or so I have had my PS3. Only now do I think it's finally getting to becoming worth it's entry fee. There are some good exclusive games, and Blu-ray discs aren't $30 anymore, so it's growing on me. :)

Indeed it does.

But that's one of the things I like about it, I have to get better or I just don't progress in the game. I always get disappointed with fighters that I can run through in under a couple of hours without much difficulty. SF4 is just about right for me.

Why so serious?

Wii is in another market from PS3, but now you seem to think PS3 will become like Wii? Sony sold 120 million units without the non-gamers. Please remember that.

dotWithShoes

Ummmm, wrong? If you beleive that you're as blind as every fanboy in this this forum. casuals and non-gamers are the BIGGEST reason the Ps2 sold as well as it did. Although as soon as someone starts plaiying a game, they are a gamer. Being a gamer isn't some secret society you have to sacrifice 2 dual shock controllers to enter. A lot of casuals bough the ps2 becuz of...... DVD Playback :) and maybe all those Barbie games they made.

The PS2 didn't get to 120 million on hardcore gamers... that's a given. The Wii hasn't only captured a chunk of the casual market the PS2 had, it has expanded that market, which is why they are selling so many consoles.

interesting post TC.

may i ask a couple of questions?

1) Is aiming it at familys and ppl who dont traditionally play computer games a bad thing?

2) do u blame the wii for alot of its under-developed (due to lack of horsepower or something like that) titles or do u think its capable of more?

osan0

1) No, it's not an inherently bad thing to aim for that demographic, evidently it's a successful business model.

2) Naturally I don't blame the Wii itself, I blame developers who haven't taken advantage of the possibilities. Instead they have slapped some Wiimote-centric features on an already existing game or have made a weak game based around the Wiimote, hoping no one will notice it's not all that good in the first place.

[QUOTE="Can-o-Mark"]Blog post?Can-o-Mark

Just trying to get some discussion going in here... :D Or is this no longer a place for discussion? I've been gone for a while.

Just thought I´d say it. Since I recall seeing threads like this get locked due to the bloggish nature of their content.

Fair enough. If it needs to be locked, then so be it.
