As a PS4 owner i am generally satisfied with my console but the truth is that its the second consecutive holiday season that with the exception of last guardian Sony has no other exclusivities or first party titles, while the xbox one if you take a look at the list has at least four or five. So Sony's offerings for this holiday season are solely based on third party games which is a bit disappointing.
Why can't they build a traditional console that can compete directly with PS4 and XBOX ONE, after all they already have
a portable console and in fact a successful one. Gamers just want a games console that is straightforward and simple to use, Nintendo on the other hand keeps making things complicated. Its a shame because they have a very good and unique games portfolio and with the appropriate hardware they could have a good chance to compete against Sony and Microsoft, instead they persist on a marketing strategy that does not appeal to the majority of gamers out there. Anyway there is also a chance that Nintendo just doesn't have the necessary funds to back up a top notch hardware machine, so maybe this is why they try to come up with alternate ways to gain the consumers interest.
I don't get it why some people are so pissed of with Microsoft for getting the timed exclusivity for rise of the
tomb raider. I mean its a competitive market out there and it is rational for a company that takes itself seriously to fight for such exclusivities, the same can be done by Sony in the future, we already see some deals that Sony has made regarding exclusivities for dlc for certain games, the gaming market is a competitive one and competition is what moves this market forward. I think that some people are exagerrating regarding this matter. Believe me i am not a fan boy, in fact i don't even own an XBOX ONE, instead i own a PS4 and i am really pleased with it. The truth is that i was really eager to play this game, i played many great PS4 games in the meantime and will play rise of the tomb raider in October when it comes out. So things are much simpler than some people present them to be, there is no need to freak out for a timed exclusivity.
This game really needs to differentiate itself in order for me to buy it, i mean this zombie theme is becoming tiresome for me, too many zombie games out there. Still i find the game interesting but it has to offer something new in terms of gameplay and world design in order to attract attention. We will have to wait and see. I hope we won't have to wait too long.
I saw the movie yesterday and i have mixed feelings. Sure it was a movie the held you on your toes with great action and visual effects. It really managed to convey strong emotions to its audience especially during the showdown between batman and superman. its just that some parts of the scenario just don't coincide with logic very much. For example the hatred that batman feels for superman is a bit too much especially towards a guy(superman) that has saved thousands of people,it is very far stretched in order to justify the battle between them. Also seeing superman being defeated by batman due to (what else...) the use of cryptonite especially when superman had several chances in the movie to vaporize batman in a matter of seconds and he didn't do it, is a bit annoying for a superman fan like me. Also the reason why batman does not kill superman at the end of the battle between them just isn't convincing enough. Finally all this mix of superheroes and fantastic places (gotham along with metropolis in the same movie!!) ruins the unique identity that each hero has as well as the fantasy world that stands with him. At the end of the day it was an entertaining movie that will sell very well due to its great action and visual effects. Personally i preferred the movie man of steel as well as the batman movies the presided this movie.
Its impressive that this list does not contain any of the exclusivities in store for the xbox one system, with the only exception being quantum break. Despite the fact that i am a PS4 owner if find this very unfair. Games like gears of war 4,recore,crackdown, scalebound should not be left out of the list. Anyway as a ps4 owner i am eagerly waiting for uncharted 4, and horizon zero dawn. I have my doubts about no man's sky so i will just wait and see. From third party publishers mass effect is a must. Of course the next expansion for my favorite game the witcher 3, blood and wine is also on my top list.
The witcher 3 is a magnificent game i finished the campaign on my ps4 and now i am playing the first expansion which is pretty good as well. In terms of technology the graphics are spectacular, and the frame rate despite everything i have heard doesn't drop much, on the contrary the game runs smoothly without any significant problems, congratulations to the developers for creating a wonderful game world, i am eager to play the next expansion.
The truth is that microsoft is doing its best to satisfy its gamers. This is shown by the fact that it tries to correct the mistakes it did in the previous generation, for example the luck of first party games. This time around its bringing lots of high quality first party games, i mean this holiday season it has several exclusivities to choose from while Sony has completely nothing to offer either as first party games or exclusivities. Its really ironic that i bought a PS4 to enjoy first party games and exclusivities but at least thus far one can find those in the other side of the competition. Nevertheless i am sure that in 2016 i will play many great games on my PS4, but still sony should have a better lineup for this holiday period.
The truth is that i bought a PS4 mainy because i believed that it will have very strong first party support. The funny thing is that at least thus far the xbox one has a far superior line up and the truth is that microsoft is trying hard to correct the mistakes of the past among which were the lack of strong first party support and this shows that they have taken very seriously their place in the console market. Anyway i think that with some patience i will have the chance to play many great first party titles on the ps4. At the moment i am playing witcher 3 which for a man with my working hours will take a couple more months to complete.
