I recently purchased an Onkyo TX SR605s receiver and I have to say I'm really pleased with it. I'm only using 5.1 of the possible 7.1 but I've been to a few sites pricing speakers lately so that will probably be my next upgrade.

Here is my TV for those who don't remember/feel like going back in this thread to find it. Sorry for the Sony-centric pic. :P

EDIT: The TV is a Sharp Aquos LC 32gp1u 1080p 32"

I'm not totally tired of them, no. But I don't go out of my way to play most/all of them like I used to.

Visually it looks great, but I haven't seen much personally that makes it stand out in the fps crowd (gameplay wise) beside the "play dead" feature.

Next purchase I know of atm is Ratchet and Clank, but I'm really looking forward to Uncharted. I almost bought skate. yesterday so that may be my next game before the week is over.

I've done that a few times... F@H and downloading demos. I try not to do that though. Not out of fear of damaging the hardware, but to save on the electric bill.

Come on man... there will always be people with differing opinions aka "fanboys". You said that you are confident in your purchase of a ps3 so don't let those guys get to ya. Just be happy that you can say you own a ps3 or any console for that matter. There are alot of people who would love to be in your position and only have to worry about an opossing view.
