What software on your pc are you using for streaming? If it's WMP 11 then you have to go to the sharing options, and tell it to accept all devices.

The way I read it is that when he inserts the disc it goes black. When I insert a disc it stays on the xmb until I highlight the bd under video and press x. If he was talking about loading a movie then he should have been more clear rather than saying "after inserting the disc the screen goes to black in typical ps3 disc accepting fashion.."

There may be a problem with your console. I say this because of your point about the screen going black when you insert a disc. I have never seen that on my ps3. I insert a disc and see the loading circle animation pop up in the corner, all while the xmb remains on screen. If I were you I would call Playstation support

That's not a mod. Those lights are on all ps3's... one for power state and the other comes on if there is a disk in the system.

lol... but don't forget if it wasn't for MS loaning Apple $150 million years ago then there might not be an Apple today. :D

Besides it's MS and Sony I'm worried about here as you can see in my last pic where I have them separated by a Wii and HD DVD drive. lol :P

I don't think I've posted in this thread yet...

The TV is a Sharp LC-32gp1u

The AV Receiver is a Yamaha HTiB 5.1 setup... May upgrade that in the not so distant future.

Didn't you say it will charge in the other usb ports? Anyway... you could always plug it into your computer and charge it that way.

I own both... brb, I'm gonna go kick my own ass.

As much as fanboys can annoy you they are a necessity in the gaming business. Brand loyalty keeps companies afloat by getting them through rough times and keeps the competition going which brings us better games. Arguing which system is better will never end.
