Hey all!

Well, my PC fails to power on. I noticed for the past few months, that if I turned off my machine (shut down, restart was fine) and hit the power button, it would take a few seconds to actually start. Then as time went on, seconds turned to minutes before the machine would actually start running. A couple days ago, I turned it off to clean it. Once I plugged it back in and hit the button...nothing happened. So I let it be and returned to it a few hours later...still nothing. Looks like it's dead in the water.

When I plug in the power cord to the PSU and flip the switch, the green light on my mobo turns on. But as I stated above, it never actually starts running after hitting the power button on my tower. Is this most likely a PSU problem? I've had my Antec Neopower 480W for about 2 years with no problems...until this started happening.

Has anyone had a problem like this? It seems like it's definitely the PSU as the culprit, but just wanted to be sure before ordering a new one.

I didn't bother listing my specs since that doesn't seem to pertain to an issue like this. Thanks and let me know if you need more info!

So...people's opinions on here mean more to your friend then actual benchmarks? I'm just making sure I read that right.

EDIT: This was directed at TC.

In this case, the saying "if it's too good to be true, it is" comes to mind.

[QUOTE="Honus722"]Hmm, I've been using ASUS motherboards for about 6 years now and haven't had any issues with them. Guess I'm lucky.gla300
when you buy them from online sellers like amazon or tigerdirect there is a big chance to get a dead motherboard

Yay for newegg then!

Right now I am no longer receiving that message error (after reinstall the windows). However, I still have the PC reboot and freeze while playing game, the best time is Crysis where I can play for 30 minutes before it reboot while COD 4 is not even 5-10 minutes...

I can have the PC running all night and running other program and don't have any problem. It could be heat relative... but I am not sure how to check that since my CPU temperature is low 46 C when it reboot (I check from BIO file). But I don't know how hot is my graphic card.... and in fact it is getting too hotor not...

I have two graphic cards to test and it is not graphic card either.

I try to looking for the program where I can test my RAM ...

and if it is heat problem, what should I do? buy a different CPU fans...? can I replace heat sink? or what ?Please Advice

What kind of sound card do you have? I had a Sound Blaster a few years ago that caused exactly the same issues that you describe above. I researched a bit more and noticed a lot of people were having the same problem with the same type of card I had.

That first error looks like conflicting IRQ requests. Have you checked the Windows error logs to see if there's a bit more info in there? Although as everyone has stated, it could be a heat/memory issue.

Hmm, I've got a cheap-o sound card that does the job fine, but I may have to pick this card up and give it a try (and see what I'm missing). I'm just wary because I had a Creative Labs card a few years ago that would cause freezing in my games. When I investigated, it seems that a lot of people were having a similar issue. But, that was years ago!

[QUOTE="dayaccus007"]Yes modular PSU is very good for cable management, I recommend Corsair HX520Wdebusentel

Thank you sir! But do you think 520w will be enough? I know those PSU's have 3 rails and are very good but do you think for OC'ing purposes I should be at least 600w?

Nah, 520W will be fine.
