It's logging in just fine for us but it sometimes lags a bit and certain games "ranked matches" are impossible to get into. But it certainly is a big improvement from 2 days ago.

We managed to get Carcassonne going finally in multiplayer, but man there aren't many people around. I guess only a few people at a time can connect and then another wave can and we can't. This is a seriously annoying problem that they really need to get fixed soon. Happy New Years anyways, gamers :)

Well praise be to the Gamer Gods. I finally got my profile recovered. Aside from that X-box LIVE is still having trouble connecting me online and the rare instance I do get breifly on it goes REEEEEAAAALLLLLLY slow. At least now I can play my game where I left off and with all my achievment points. Man that was a 5 day mission just to get my freaking profile back. I doubt I'll be playing any online fighting anytime soon with all this BS though. Thanks Microsoft have a really freaking happy new year.

Same thing here. I recover about half my profile and it conks out. I deleted it again and tried to redownload it but it keeps giving me the LIVE is down message about half way through. Oh well thank goodness tonight is New Years and a good party will distract me from all this insanity.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and there are reasons why both are winning awards and critic acclaims, but myself, personally (with the exception of Halo 3) am not a big shooter fan myself. Bio-Shock was amazing in the graphics department and the story was phenomenal(I watched my friend run through quite a lot of it) but my signifigant other and I got bored with it pretty quick. I haven't played any of the COD games, just because, well I'm just not that into war/shooting games. So I guess you aren't the only one 8)

2 weeks????? That's unreal, dude. Sorry to hear about that :-P At least we got 2 days of gaming in. I completely am on your side with the compensation request. We ALL should get the time we lost back for free whether is was one day or two weeks.

Due to the fact that I can't use my profile because I can't recover it (and of course this is the profile with my 3 months paid) I can't even try to connect through just the games, but I doubt that I would have any luck anyways. You know, I understand that LIVE has been a wonderful service for those who have had it over the years, and yes, I do believe that they are trying hard to fix the problem, and no yelling at tech support isn't going to make it get solved any faster, but I have to agree with the irate customer population on this issue. Many of us are adults and have jobs, and this week wasour only chance to kick back and play some on-line gaming. I know many people got 360s or LIVE for Christmas as well, and Microsoft should have forseen this and accomadated the mass amount of new joiners and the extra log-ins. If it truly is a server problem related to the amount of people, then yes, it IS ENTIRELY microsoft's fault. If it is something else, then it's some really crappy timing. Either way, I doubt we'll know for sure because no one wants to provide us with any tangible answers.

Yeah I can't recover my profile until all this craziness is over either, except I didn't delete mine purposely. Some wingnut at tech support told my signifigant other to delete it because he assumed that's what the issue was before we realized everyone was having these problems. Those of you who can even connect to LIVE for a few hours consider yourselves lucky, I've tried to hop on at ALL hours of the day and night with no luck whatsoever. I always get the XBOX Live is down message.
