This is day 4 for us and I have work on Thursday. I can understand 24-48 hrs of downtime to fix problems, but 4 days, 5 days and even a week for some people is just ridiculous. As for the excuse of all the new gamers jumping on-line for Christmas and the Holiday break, shouldn't Microsoft have forseen this and made plans to accomadate more players?

I turned the live downloads/update feature off so that it doesn't take up so much memory. It is an option to only CHOOSE which items you want downloaded onto your console. Another reason I choose to not have things automatically downloaded is the fact that you never know what may or may not have errors or glitches in it. Take the Naruto: Rise of a Ninja game for example, Ubisoft opted to have a free character download for Shikamaru and it ended up causing game freeze so everyone had to uninstall it.

Aside from the fact that most of the tech peopleI have talked to over the months have been extremely friendly and knowledgable, there are a few who have no clue what they are talking about. Right now, due to the whole Xbox Live problem they are probably bringing in as many people as possible to deal with all the irate customers. Not all of these people they are brining in to answer the phone are going to be that swift. They usually only ever ask me for my name and user ID although sometimes they ask for phone numberand postal code. If you can find a representative that is really helpful you can try to ask for him/her by name or extention the next time you call back, although at the present time that might take a while. It shouldn't be a problem once the LIVE is fixed and their lines are a bit more free.

We're in Ontario here...it's been 3 days for us. I figured it was a server issue involving the mass amount of people being online because of the Holiday Season. Still, kudos for you for actually GETTING a proper response from someone. Like I've mentioned in my other post, I tried on 4 seperate occasions to get an answer for 1-800-4-MY-XBOX and all they could say was to check xbox's main page for updates on the situation. Is it REALLY hidden or is there absolutely no information on that website regarding this problem? What a freaking bummer, I was looking forward to some online gaming before work started up again and not to mention I got my signifigant other 3 months of Xbox live for Christmas along with some gamer points and a game for us to share :roll: I really do hope they compensate us for this..3 days out of 3 months may not seem like a lot but I work hard for my money and we only got 2 days use out of the XBOX live so far. To make matters worse the idiot tech support person informed my signifigant other to delete or profile and then redownload it. Well, now we can't redownload it without LIVE and all our saved game info is stored on it so we had to start a new game all over again.

This has been going on for 3 days now. I have called 1-800-4-MY-XBOX 4 different times now and they have no answers whatsoever. The real kicker is that we just signed up for the X-box live gold again last week and now I can't even enjoy playing my new Naruto game online I sincerly hope they plan on at least giving us the three days free or 4 or 5 or 6 or however long this nonsense is going to go on for. The nice tech people at 1-800-4-MY-XBOX keep insisting that there are status updates for this problem onxbox's website in the support section. WELL I HAVEN'T SEEN IT!!! I have looked on several occasions and cannot find ANYTHING regarding what and how they plan to fix this problem and compensate their users I mean this isn't a free service!
