From the moment I read about his favored game being Halo 2, paired with the rumors of a Halo 2 Anniversary coming this year (or 1-4 Halo pack) for Xbox One, it just feels like such an obvious marketing ploy, a preparation for an upcoming announcement for his fanboys. "Oh he enjoys Halo 2, how neat" - "Oh, Halo 2 Anniversary was announced!" - "Oh, and remember, it's Phil's favorite game, too! Imagine how good this game will be for those of us that haven't played it yet!", etc.
@RyogaRod Not really. It's still quite a difference between the E3 footage. I think this is simply PS4 footage. Different lighting and textures, and a couple of missing immersion details, like they way wind blew through the streets, tossing junk around, the movement of NPCs is a bit janky, particle effects are scaled down, etc.

A whole different beast for a whole different market, which is small enough that the price needs to stay high, to keep up profit. And it's small because it's a rich market, so it can keep paying the high prices.

@bsford @ThAdEa82 Have fun imagining whatever comfortable chair I'm actually using (because if you assume I'm spending that much money on hardware, you should also assume, correctly, that I am buying quality furniture and not spending hours sitting on a stool) or whether or not I'm at a desk or in my living room, and spending at least double the amount on games, ending up in a simply different plan of investment, yet the same in the end.
Have fun with the over-expensive, useless hardware that is Xbox One and Kinect, unintuitive and poorly designed interface, continuous undelivered promises from Microsoft

What will save this handheld is either a 4GB+ internal memory or the complete dismissal of the proprietary memory cards and going with regular ones. And a couple of new, exclusive, killer IPs.But I'd rather make due without the proprietary memory cards and deal with the games later.
Yes, but it's pointless to even talk about it. Being optional means it can't be properly taken into consideration when trying to predict the outcome of the sales and profit for the console. Whereas for Microsoft it's easier since it's mandatory.
