I wanna but my two sense in and say Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is the best, I still play it over and over to date.  Alucard is one sick vampire slayer and I think they should make another Castlevania where he's the star and bring back Trevor Belmont to play along side.  I just don't understand why they don't make more 2D Castlevanias, I think they're better.  Guess I'm just old school.Squall303
They did bring back Trevor Belmont for Curse of Darkness, but that dummy IGA made a character that wasn't even like Alucard, except for the part that he used to serve Dracula, got tired of helping him try to plunge the world into eternal darkness and turned good! I'm somewhere in the middle on the whole 3D 2D Castlevania debate, since I haven't played all the 2D games in the series yet.

Symphony of the Night is the best Castlevania game in mybook and opinion, and I could play that game over and over again because it's such an awesome game with the immense stroy and all that! They should at least try and make 1 final 2D Castlevania game for the consoles, but I strongly doubt that's going to happen anytime soon.

What's the difference anyway? You're gonna still go dungeon crawling in a big, old, scary castle. The time period may change, but Castlevania is how it always was. Septagon7
That is true, but they always change the layout of the castle for every new game that is made and released, and for a long time, the only thing that didn't change about the castle was the design and layout for the outside of the castle, until the made the cutscenes for Curse of Darkness, where a totally different castle appears rather than the one we are all used to seeing!! I like the original design and layout for the outside of the castle better than the new one made and used for the 2 cutscenes in CoD more anyway!!

I know for sure that the Castlevania Dungeon website, as well as vgmuseum.com probably have screenshots of the box art for those games! I'll look into that, and send Gamespot the box art shots for those games. I've noticed that there's no pic of the box art for Castlevania II: Belmont's Revenge on the Game Boy either, and I have a pic of the box art for that game, but I forgot to send it to Gamespot though. I'll go and look into that right now!!

Aria/Dawn of sorrow is close enough to the present to be considered a current time castlevania in my books.propyro
I've noticed by browsing the 'History' section of the Castlevania Dungeon site, that Aria and Dawn of Sorrow took place in the years 2035 and 2036, so in my opinion, that looks like they do belong in the not too distant future categoryin my books!!

We all saw the type of destruction Sin was capable of when he attacked Kilika Port in Fianl Fantasy X, so, Sin would probably crush Sephiroth with his large size, and wouldn't even think twice!! If Sin was attacking from the ocean, his big size would create a huge tidal wave, and Sephiroth would get caught right in the middle of it, so he wouldn't even stand a chance against Sin!!

All of the past and current Castlevania games have taken place in the dark ages, during mideval times, like the case was with many Castlevania games of the past, and Aria and Dawn of Sorrow took place during the not so distant future!! So, I was wondering what everyone would think if Konami was to actually make a Castlevania game that took place in the present.

What would you're thoughts and opinions if this was actually going to be possible. Also, who would you like to be in the story, which weapons would be used, what enemies would you like to have in the game, etc.

I've just been owned ... i thought you were going to say something about that old (and bad) novel that was written about some kid that got sucked into the castlevania 2 game ...propyro
I actually loaned that book from the library and read it, and it wasn't really all that good like I hoped it would've had a better story, but it just wasn't the case!!

You people and your remakes, my god!

If everybody thought like that we would never have had a new game... ever! Whenever the technology either moves forward or developers get a better grasp of it, they can improve on what was done in the past. My question is, whats the points? The whole reason we can move forward is because we're not holding onto the past. If we get strapped down to remakes, we might aswell remake every good game there ever was. Is it worth it. You cannot relive an experience, you can experience a new one just as good. People dont seem to understand this.

Get over the remakes, it wont be like playing the game again, all stary eyed and in a dream. It will be waiting with unrealistic expectation looking at everything they changed very critically as it touches on your own personal memories of a game you may have loved.

Just where in the hell did you get this stupid, lame, and very untrue info?? There's no way in Hell that they are going to make a remake of Final Fantasy X!! Not in a hundred million years. What is the point in trying to remake that awesome game anyway?? It's a great game for what it is, and it had a great story, wonderful charachters, and terrific boss battles!! If you didn't like the game, then why in the hell did you even think about buying a copy or buying a copy of the game, and then not enjoying it for what it is?? And why in the hell would SQUARE-ENIX want to remake such an awesome game that eventually became a part of the PS2's GREATEST HITS collection anyways?? Get you're head out of the gutter, because it just isn't going to happen!!

One of the good things about the Castlevania series are none other than the boss battles!! Some of them were, and still are easy for some of of the fans, and harder than hell for the rest of the fans of the series. So, I'm wondering which boss battles are the hardest??

I would have to say that the boss battle with the Forgotten One in Lament of Innocence was the hardest boss battle for me, because of the falling maggots that kept falling and jumping around, and the 3rd and final stage where you had to steer clear of the Forgotten One's fire attack that he uses on you after he inhales and brings the rocks down to try and crush you!!

Plus, the final battle between Christopher Belmont and Dracula in Castlevania 2: Belmont's Revenge was prettty hard and difficult for me as well, because of the orbs that he magically sent out to attack you, and the fact that he kept teleporting from one part of the battleground to the next.
