It'll not bode well for Sony or Microsoft if they restrict used games period. It'll increase piracy exponentially not to mention lower the sales of the consoles because alot of people still buy used games, quite often ~ some rarer games can only even be purchased used! What happens then?

Microsoft and Sony need to drop this moronic move - it's only going to harm there reputation in the long run.

@DaWarthog @FriendBear The good news is that both consoles are using PC technology...I'd expect to see a boost in PC gaming in the near future, and if we don't...then expect to see a boost in Emulation lol

These activation fees will make Microsoft lose the next-gen battle. No matter how fancy the box is, what bells and whistles it's got - at the end of the day here, people are buying it as a gaming console. If your screwing over alot of customers, and potential customers then its easy - PS4 is the obvious choice here. Sure, used games do have 'some' limitations on PS4 but not remotely on this scale and even then, it's mostly for online multiplayer games.

@CROAT_56 I know, but they haven't been hacked...yet :p Besides, the claims are only substantial at the moment until Microsoft make any comments.

@krizalidzero @FriendBear The problem is, times have changed. It was much easier to be innovative back in the 80s/90s because of emerging technologies but now, it isn't as easy. Look at the original Wii, besides the motion controller system - it was more or less a slightly more powerful gamecube. And again, lets face it - many original Wii games are not really that great - sure it does have some classics. What I'm saying really is that there is time for innovation and time to get back to basics, this is the time for Nintendo to re-evaluate.

What Nintendo needs to do is stop with the gimmicks and risky innovations and get back to basics, this is what made the original N.E.S and S.N.E.S the huge winners, Listen up ~ Make a fairly powerful console, at least in terms of specs equal to a medium range gaming PC - then add in decent online support and finally a standard controller 10 button controller, no gimmicky motion ones and then finally, games lots of them.

The Sims 3 is still extremely broken, save game corruption and numerous crashes are still a common problem. The entire series hasn't worked properly for most people since the original came out, I'm not holding out any hope that Sims 4 will be any different.
