Why isn't violence ok?

You're better off not giving idiots the time of day, because you'll never have enough time to cover all of them.

So, Pirate, were you wrong to draw the conclusion that this study (claiming that conservatives are less intelligent) is incorrect because the richest among us tend to vote republican (from the faulty logic that rich people have to be intellligent)? If not, let me ask you this, have you ever been wrong in regards to anything political? If not, seek help.

So success does not equal intelligence? Correct? So we can't assume that someone who is rich and votes republican does so because they are intellgent, correct? I must therefore return your attention back to the study that claims that conservatives are ignorant cavemen.

[QUOTE="FrKnPuertoRican"]

The point is that success does not equal intelligence. All sorts of factors go into making a successful person and I'm willing to wager that nepotism is just as big a factor as any. You can create your imaginary "average" rich person that went from rags to riches based on his own "can do" attitude and intelligence, but you have still not demonstated that success equals intelligence, because it does not.

Pirate700

I never said success= intelligence. I'm saying your average well-off person typically is well educated and intelligent. Sure there are well off idiots who got rich through other methods but that is far from the norm.

BY saying that "rich people at the the top" (your words) are republicans you are saying that success equals intelligence in the context of this thread. You don't consider any other possibilities for why super wealthy individuals might vote republican (cough tax breaks cough). Now you are switching to the "average well off person" for some reason, with no evidence that the average well off person even votes republican. I must return to the original comment to your post. There was too much wrong with it to begin trying to disect it.
