What people fail to realise is what demographic usually pics a nintendo system. Like it or not it is the younger children who wants the DS and or the Wii. I had a friend give me a Wii and i got rid of it. I just couldnt stand the system. It wasn't that good 90 percent of the games are geared towards younger children and because of that Im not interested. I dont care how good mario galaxy is as a game im not into mario galaxy. Mario cart on the other hand well thats fun. But i had that problem with alot of the Wii games I just felt like i was playing a system meant for kids. Its not geared for adults thats obvious by most of the games. The DS was not geared for the older demographic. Those who dont like Wii or DS buy Sony or Microsoft and personally I love my PS3 and wouldn't switch to a Wii if nintendo payed me money to.

This is my opinion too.
The PSP didn't lose in sales because it didn't have enough "portable" games (which is a contradiction, I'll call them pick-up-and-play), it lost because nintendo targeted a larger demographic, ESPECIALLY children.
PSP2 sounds fine to me. They have to have "PS" in the name because they've done that with all their other playstation products. And I can't think of anything else that would make a better name.
3DS will win in sales because it appeals to a wider market (including young children and girls). People will also be curious to try out the 3D feature (gimmick) since you can only experience it when you hold it in your hands.
But which one will I buy? The NGP for sure, it has some sick games coming (the genre of games that I like - shooters/action) and is pretty much everything I could ever want in a portable entertainment system.
what was it in BGS..."all of this has happened before and it will happen again" or something like that. we have been here before...the PSP was supposed to obliterate the puny DS. it was a PS2 in handheld form compared to a N64 lite. it would have the better games and and put an end to the childish and daft DS. the PSP was beaten 2:1, 3rd parties have dropped support and piracy finished it off. its softare sales are also abysimal outside of very few titles like MH. if it wasnt for MH it would have been completly dead years ago with sony making it twitch with the odd release. yes it was the most successful non ninty handheld...but thats not saying much. sony just made the same mistakes as every other competitor to nintys handheld....they though the GBs lack of power and features were its weakness and they all, without exception, failed. so were here again and the PSP2 faithful tout the same crap....power and features will put an end to ninty. yea....its getting old now. im not saying the NGP is doomed to fail and the 3DS will continue to reign supreme. ninty may finally fall due to some critical mistakes with the 3DS. apple may end up blasting both of them out of it or the NGP could indeed become the market leader. but if it does then it wont be due to power and features and graphics and all that crap. the NGP fiathful are going to have to think of far better reasons than those as to why the NGP will win.
I'm pretty sure the 3DS will win because of the same reason the DS won - it appeals to a wider market. Specifically, young children (ages 5-12) and girls. Parents want to buy DS's for their kids. It even appeals somewhat to old people. And it has a gimmick: the touch screen (the gimmick for the 3DS is the 3D). The PSP (and now especially the NGP) really only appeals to hardcore male gamers. I believe that's why it lost in terms of sales, and that's why the NGP will lose to the 3DS in sales.
