No offense, but your tv sucks Are you using an Xbox? Xbox 360? Is that standard def tv vs an lcd monitor? Go look up the term. "Scientific Process" in a chem 101 book.
Aye, its not that big of deal. But that with a combination of 'no biggies' is a big deal. Sony needs to get off its high horse and show a little humility. Or at least some seppuku....
So they finally gave thier games a graphics overhaul. Essentially its the same games I've seen for the past 10 years, so why should anyone be interested or excited?
Yeesh, can't always be a crowd pleaser. Unlike the PS2 and the PSOne, or the wonderful Gameboy the 360 has to use an emulation program to understand its older counterpart. The hardware wasn't designed with the intent of backwards compatability, but to streamline next gen improvements: anti-aliasing, bloom, HDTV, soft shadows, improved AI, online capabilities, etc. Because the hardware doesn't match, it means sometimes one operation has to be converted into two or even three operations to work - resulting in a slower performance. Some games for the XBOX used code that took advantage of certain elements that don't exist on the 360, making a lot of games incompatable (for now). The good news is that the games that do work can undergo 360 improvements such as anti-aliasing effects.
I remember playing the first two monkey island games about 6 years ago from a PCGamer CD bundle with other games like Alone in the Dark and XCom. Although dealing with the interface took some getting used to, I loved the two and promptly went out looking for the third.
Games that innovate and leave a lasting mark: 1.)Legend of Zelda:OOT - z-lock function made fighting in 3rd person fun 2.)GoldenEye - introduced a highly sucessful 4 person multiplayer to console with a variety of game options, aside from being a suave singleplayer game 3.)Doom - Attitude, gore, and scary moments for this fps 4.)Ghost n' Goblins - used to play this in high school, right next to halo, it was just fun. 5.)Max Payne - Matrix wannabes gotto play with time bending features. Tetris despite being fun does not make you cool. Its just a timeless game that will exist forever.
