Depressing, when I saw Big Ben strike midnight, my immediate thought was that the Romanian and Bulgarian invasion begins and not what a great year 2014 will be.

Yeah, its insane that just four people are making that game. Despite the crappy show I think this is going to be a wonderful year for games.

I can't believe a 4 man team made it!

The US, I always found it fascinating that in WW1 the US had the smallest army in the world, no navy, tiny amount of deaths, fought in only 1 major offensive (an offensive where half the soldiers were French), they weren't even an economic power house, but come WW2 that had completely changed and instead of no one taking them seriously (Woodrow Wilson was repeatedly laughed at by both sides) they had become the most powerful nation almost over night.

Do you know anything about the The Sinking of the Lusitania with Americans on it? Does not the President have to swear an oath to protect the Constitution which includes provisions for protecting it's citizens?

WhiteKnight77

I like how he said "tuned their backs on Europe"  When in reality the U.S can be considered just as guilty as Britain and France for sitting there watching Hitler annex country after country.

And I'm not sure if the people saying that having the bases there is good for the economy can really use that a a plausible argument.   It's about a foreign force in your land.  Simple Tourism can probably bring in more $$$ per year than a base would spend!

So should we all let the U.S put  bases in our countries.... apparently it's good economics!

Chamberlin was really ignorant if he though Hitler was going to keep his word on a signed piece of paper.

I don't know if I can blame politicians of that era for not wanting to go to war and not worrying about Hitler invading country after country due to the isolationism that they wanted. At least Roosevelt had enough sense to start building our miitary up before it got too late as well as kickstart our industries to increase our production capabilities so we could ramp up even easier if or when we actually had to go to war. The US realized once we went to war again that we could not just leave Europe in a limbo as they did after WWI.

Even then, the Cold War necessitated the need for forward advanced bases to augment European militaries (hence the formation of NATO). Now, even with the Cold War over, there is still a need for advance bases such as the one's Germany provides. Staging personnel and equipment there for use in the Mid-East means it is easier to get them where needed be it Saudi Arabia, Iraq or Afghanistan as well as faster.

The US left Europe in limbo after WW1? The USA was not important before WW2.

[QUOTE="Makhaidos"]Hell no. The last couple of times we turned our back on Europe, within five minutes there was a big mess that we of course had to clean up. When they can learn to behave with eachother then maybe they can go their room with the door open without supervision.WhiteKnight77

Uhhhh what? lol No offense, but we didn't have to get involved in World War I. Also, we managed to stay out of most of Europe's mess for over a hundred years until the World Wars. Europe will be fine without us. Besides, withdrawing or scaling down military presence in the region does not mean the dissolution of NATO.

Europe is pretty different now from what it used to be. And I have confidence that they can pull off a Concert of Europe again. In fact, they already have with the establishment of the EU. It' pretty doubtful that anything chaotic would break out. Maybe in the Balkans, but that's because the Ottomans fvcked that region up years ago. Lots of resentment still festers, and many peoples still seek to reclaim their former position through blood. We can't be world police forever.

Do you know anything about the The Sinking of the Lusitania with Americans on it? Does not the President have to swear an oath to protect the Constitution which includes provisions for protecting it's citizens?

The 300,000 American soldiers made a huge difference and completely turned the tide in WW1.

Well the Ouya sucked big time, a huge waste of money, so I don't really have any hope for another Android gaming machine.
