*cough* Nonetheless, (back on topic :-P), while I did raise an eyebrow towards Commander Shepard's particularly emphasized humanity in ME3, I'm not sure if calling him an "everyman" would really fit him at all, tbh, lol; sure, he has absolutely no connection with the Reapers, and has gone up against opponents far beyond the scale in which he should be capable of even overcoming, but whatever the case may be, he still ends up becoming an incredible legend and hero with renowned talents in warfare regardless. I mean, in a way, I could see how he would appear like an everyman to some, but it's probably just due to the ridiculously strong enemies and universe he opposes/inhabits in-game, 'ey; for example, on the other side of the coin, pit him against anybody in Assassin's Creed and then he'll be the one indubitably capable of extinguishing anyone in sight, lol. :-P Not that that's exactly a bad thing. O_o
While the everyman archetype is running somewhat low in quantity these days, I believe that as long as a developer can form a three-dimensional, compelling character with a certain vulnerability (or vulnerabilities) and execute their role within the story in pristine, vivid fashion, then I'll be impressed. On the contrary, I've found that only a few games have truly managed to do that, most either falling short or just starting off with a somewhat bleakly written story to begin with. Rockstar, Valve, BioWare, and Naughty Dog, however, have presented almost perfect examples of such characterization, which I laud them for.
Looks pretty good. I'm personally not planning on getting the Vita any time soon, however, since I'm pretty low on money atm, but I send my best wishes to anyone who does decide to do so, lol..! ;P
