You need to practice like 30 mins + each day. If you do that then you'll get 'really good' pretty soon.

Go watch sports or go play sports. That's mostly what I do with my mates...

Split screen is great. How else are you going to play with mates when they go to your house or you go to their's? They definitely should not get rid of it.
