I got into games by the late 80s, with an Atari 2600. On the present subject, I could cite:

Gladiator - by Alumer, 1986. One of the first arcade games I saw in my life.

Metal Storm - by Irem, 1991. Thats still one of my favorite Nes games. Its backgrounds are interestingly detailed.

Jorney to Silius - by Sunsoft, 1990. The backgrounds are good, maybe not as much as Metal Storm's, but it got some impressive bosses. Another one of my favs, as well.

From your description of the boss, it reminds me of Aleste, but the rest does not ring a bell.

Anyway, heres Aleste:

No.... I'll try to explain it better... when you push the attack button during battles, the actual action happens with a delay of around a second. Got it? Thats what i mean.

Ive been interested in this series for a long time, and as i got a ps2 this year, i decided to start playing Devil Summoner. Unfotunately, i got instantly frustrated by the fact that, during battles, the basic attack has a little delay... Is there any other game in the Megami Tensei / Persona series in ps1 or 2 that suffers from problems like that?
