I bought my PSP on the original launch day and I'm still happy with it. Mainly for the homebrew. I do however like the Mem Cache option of the slim but it's not enough to make me want to buy another one. I think Sony really took notice of the design flaws of the first PSP ie. the d-pad is just horrendous for fighting games and such. As well as the battery life is something to be desired. I do have 3 batteries and it's not like I will go through all 3 when I'm on the road or anything but the battery like could be somewhat better. I also think Sony designed a new PSP so they could address the firmware issues and the homebrew situation because Sony virtually has no control over it. I'm sure the Slim PSP looks prettier and makes some nice cosmetic changes but I really can't see any current PSP owners going out and buying one just for the above mentioned reasons. If you have a PSP now, I wouldn't bother, If you don't and your interested, it seems to be worth at least checking out. Just don't let the tail wag the dog...

Wow, I'm surprised Gamespot didn't put Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops for the PSP on that list. For a game that got such a good score...

bottom line the price just doesn't justify me plunking down essentially 800 bucks after everything (taxes and all the bells and whistles). Metal Gear and Tekken are the only titles that make me actually consider it. Just lower the price. I only have the WII right now. I would buy the 360 over the PS3 just because at the moment it has better titles (IMHO). I DO want to get the PS3 just right now it's too much when it doesn't offer very much in return in terms of games.

Man it was even more gratifying gettting the NES game to work than to actually play it most of the time!!! Half the time you'd spend more time getting it to work than actually playing. Certainly brings back some fond memories though.

Good mix of hardware but just too pricey. Usually first generation Sony systems always has problems and there aren't that many available at launch. I'd rather buy a WII and have enough money left over so I can at least eat for the rest of the week. I do like the system, just right now it doesn't have any games that gives me incentive to buy at launch.
