I am really looking forward to this one. Definitely will be making a note of the release date. This looks fanfreakingtastic Not only do you get a new remake of Rondo, you also get the original Rondo AND an enhanced version of Symphony of the Night, quite possibly the two best Castlevanias in the whole series. So far with what Konami has shown, we are getting a lot of value and bang for our buck with this title. This will be the first game I've bought on launch AND made note of the launch date of in ages. Can hardly wait.
It still rattles my brain to see a Sonic game on a Nintendo console. I know Business is Business but people seem to forget that these companies literally HATED eachother back in the mid 90's. Nintendo and Sega back then were such BIG and HATED RIVALS of each other. Sonic was really dominating the market back then with Sonic 3 and the lock-on Sonic and Knuckles. It's just too bad Sega made so many corporate blunders with the Sega CD and the Sega Saturn and the Sega Game Gear, the Sega Dreamcast, all great concepts, just poorly executed... Sorry to ramble a bit off topic. Don't get me wrong, I love Nintendo and the Mario series, it's just that Sega was really out to lunch from about 1993 to about 2002. Competition is good for the market and the consumer, just tough to swallow how Nintendo pretty much doesn't have a rival that can really compete with them at their level now. Oh well, just glad to see Sega is still in the game.
It's nice to see Sony finally realizing the error of their ways. The reason why Nintendo is doing so well is because they are EXPANDING their target market whereas Sony is CONSTRICTING theirs. I still think it's too little too late though. Nintendo has too much of a stranglehold. Sony has seem to forgotten that the most appealing factor of any product is PRICE. Sony has also forgotten to expand their target market and has focussed too much on the gaming market they already have. Even by doing so, they have alienated so many gamers just because the PS3 is so expensive. I'm a gamer myself but I'm not going to sell my soul for a system that is essentially a dedicated computer. I'd rather upgrade my computer with the 700 bucks then spend it on a system that has virtually no games for it right now. It's nice to see that not everything is always about having the best hardware which Nintendo is proving. This might help sales in the long run but the PS3 could be 100 bucks but if you don't have any content for it.... It just doesn't matter...
I'm not one who is about nickel and diming and being all cheap but almost 800 bucks with taxes (700 bucks without) JUST for the PS3 console???? Just WAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY too much for a system that really doesn't have any marquee games out for it yet. It's a good system don't get me wrong, just not 700 dollars good.
I like the old system too but we should give the new one a chance. Just like anything in life, people are always resistent to change. I agree that in the reviews that there is a big difference between a 8.8 to a 9.2 as oppose to a 5.2 and a 5.5. We should all see where this goes before we make any judgements on it. I've always liked gamespot and have been with them for 8 years now so I'm willing to give this a chance. I think other people should too.
Wow that is surprising. I'm not against the PS3 personally, I'm just surprised that they would lay down all that coin on a system that really doesn't have a marquee game out for it right now... The price alone I can't justify. Sony doesn't seem to be for the gamers anymore. Anywho, those are really good numbers in 2 days.
