Meh, I think Enslaved looks bad compared to Castlevania. I've tried the demo for both and the combat in Enslaved is really shallow. I might try it out sometime later when it's cheaper, but for now, October 7th can't come soon enough.
So you can unlock weapons by:
- getting achievements
- random drops
- crafting
- or paying for them
Who is going to pay for them unless you are really (really) lazy?R4gn4r0k
So, you think it's ok to price a hat for 17 euros? As long as nobody buys it, right?
YOU NEED THE HATS TO COMPLETE THE SETS! Hats are rare drops, and there are almost a hundred of them now. There's a small chance of you finding hat, but it's practically impossible to get the hat YOU WANT. So if you want to stay competetive you have to buy the hat for 17 euro, or hope you will find it randomly (lol).
Also, you can now find crates which needs a key to unlock. These keys are buy only, but the crates have almost a 33% drop chance. I can't believe Valve has fallen this low...
Correct me if im wrong, but the only items that can only be bought are cosmetic items. Ones that do not change gameplay at ALL.Iantheone
Wrong.
no they have not fallen that low. do i need to buy hats to play tf2?

The new items that just released requires hats for the set bonus. Example: sniper needs the crocodile hat for immunity against headshots. But the hat is a rare drop, so you won't maybe never find it, or you can buy it for 17 euros. You think that is reasonable?
I could not stand this game(and graphics were hardly my issue). Piss poor excuse for a combat scheme(it's like god of war/devil may cry on a downgrade), horrible dungeon design making it feel like a poor man's zelda, and some of the worst pacing to start off a game ever. Throw in some unresponsive controls(well I assume that's fixed on the PC by now right?) no graphical boost could turn that sleeping pill into a fun experience. jg4xchamp
Oh wow couldn't disagree more. Sounds like you haven't even played it.
You can now buy weapons and cosmetic hats for real money from the Valve store. Valve has finally fallen to the level of Activision.

People don't seem to understand why it got such a score, it wasn't because it had some similarities to GoW. It was the fact it had those similarities without establishing it's own identity in the process. It ended up like Dante's Inferno.
Just looking at the videos reminds me of GoW, the chain gameplay, environment/interface design and even more so the platformig sections and boss battles. Though the chains don't look as flashy or satisfying to use as ones in GoW. Audio is also severely lacking. It just doesn't have anything new or innovative to set itself apart from others.
Even though GoW ripped off som aspects of DMC (which itself ripped off things from Onimusha), it added enough new mechanics, set pieces and environments to be it's own game. Castlevania failed in that aspect and so it ended up as a flop.

If that really was the truth Edge and Eurogamer, for example (seeing as they're one of the strictest reviewers) would have said the same thing too, but they didn't. How the hell are we as consumers supposed to know who's right now? Especially since the metacritic is almost 90%.
