We are doomed cause of Netflix?? I personally love having it on my computer, I can watch a movie almost anywhere I am if there is wi-fi. I can let the kids play a game or watch a movie (on netflix on the ps3 even) themselves and I can watch what I want to watch in the other room. I can watch things I normally wouldn't have spent money on but now have instant access, increasing my interest in other genres, etc.
Tangent:Cloud computing is what is being pushed next anyway, with everything being sold as a utility, instant access to whatever you want as long as you have a service. I don't see it as making me lazy at all, it just makes things easier. Convergence has already made our cell phones mini computers. I use my cell for a million things too, most of them mirror what I use my computer for when I am out and about. Again, this has made me more productive if anything. Next semester there will be an Android App class which I will be taking cause I want to create apps that are useful and maybe make me some cash. I don't need this class as I'm IT Security, but there is a lot of programming in Networking anyway (C# and any C compiler that an Open Source O/S may need to run). I see all of this as far from the end of civilization, I'm actually extremely amped about the future and being in a field that has actually been growing during this economic depression! That and I alway get physical exercise so I can counter all the comp and game playing time, seriously, exercise is super important.
On topic: A disc changer would be pretty pointless, give me a 6 TB drive (or more) and let me have all my games on the drive, Or better yet, allow games to be loaded on an external drive using the Cloud storage for saves that Sony promised and then I can always have enough room as long as the drive is big enough.
