Neither are really scary, but I guess Deadspace would fit the "scary" category. Bioshock has a better story though.

I dont think either is scary... both are dark and eerie but not really scary. Both are awesome cant go wrong with either.

What's more scary? I'd have to say Dead Space. Very eery space vibe (kinda like the movie aliens). Bioshock to me wasn't scary at all.

In terms of better story? Kind of a tough one, since I didn't care much for the Bioshock story, but Dead Space doesn't have a good story either imo, so if I had to choose then probably Bioshock.

Dead Space, the only scary bit in Bioshock is before you get any plasmids as you feel so vulnerable.

Dead Space is really creepy, but if you're looking for very scary and disturbing horror game I suggest Siren.

Neither are really scary, but if you had to pick one, Dead Space would be the best bet. Still, Bioshock does have a better atmosphere in my opinion.

Wow, it looks like people can't read at all. :( The TC changed the question to which has a better story and people still want to talk about how scary the games are.

He should have changed the title or his main post. As long as those prompts are still up, it's completely acceptable to stay on those topics.

Dead Space is scarier. Once you figure out the Big Daddies in Bioshock, there's not much to be scared over in the game.

JasonDarksavior

That's one of the many things I love about BioShock. In the beginning you're like "OMG what was that noise? Someone's here.... ok... I can do this... I hope" then after a while it becomes more of "I hear someone talking... alright I should be able to take them out with a bit of effort.." then when you get to the end of the game you're thinking "Another room of splicers and a couple big daddies? Psh, this sin't even going to slow me down!"

Oh, and as far as scary games... what little I played of Fatal Frame was scary as hell. Never played all the way through it though.

Erm, of them, only Dead Space is considered a horror game... Truth be told though, I didn't find it scary in the least. Certain segments were shocking, but the atmosphere is not near well established enough to mess with my nerves like Fatal Frame 2 or Silent Hill 3.

For a better story, get Bioshock. For Dead Space it's a good story to the game (even better if you watch Dead Space : Downfall). But if you're looking for a good scare, Dead Space is definitely up your street. Although Bioshock does have it's moments, it's the story that makes it shine.

Clearly you didn't play Resident Evil 1 or 2 when they first came out, when scary games were really introduced. Some jumpy times.

Bioshock has a better story. Dead Space is "scarier" Played them both, enjoyed them both, and I do not know which one I prefer. Great games.

Neither are truly scary games imo, Dead Space is horror it has more of that "shock" value. If you're talking creepiness and atmosphere, I really think BioShock is virtually unmatched in that respect. At least you feel vulnerable in BioShock even with the Plasmids whereas in Dead Space you in a damn armored space suit armed with plasma weapons.....oh, you just wanna know which has a better story? BioShock's story is most definitely better than Dead Space's story.

But if I had to choose, then Dead Space.

Dunno about Dead Space to be quite honest, but Bioshock's story is one of the best, if not the best one of this generation. That's my opinion. Although Dead Space's story doesn't look bad.

Dead Space (2) wins for scary. Bioshock doesn't even try to scare you, ever. And if it does, I never noticed.

DS2 actually jolted me a few times (ya they got me). And it's creepy as hell.
