@jimmy_russell @179107199999 @TomJimJack @longestsprout That is complete bull and rather ironic you would claim gamers who like story have "ADHD". Quite the opposite, it is the other way around. If you can't stick around for some good story -- you're the attention deficit person you so mentioned. And the dyslexia comment was the cream on the cake -- why would a dyslexic person want more story in a game? They have issues with reading and story-telling to begin with...All around unintelligent comment.
@Busta @SmallSatsuma Money and access speaks. And there is no direct way for GameSpot to prove they're being punished for a review. If GameSpot claimed they were being punished by being denied access in some sort of way, then they'd be the ones being called conspiratorial.
You have to think about it logically. Ask yourself, does the gaming industry have ways of punishing GameSpot?
The answer is probably yes. They can be punished through a number of ways, whether it be advertising, exclusive interviews, access to developers, games, etc. The conflict of interest is certainly there for GameSpot to be influenced at least in some way by the gaming industry.
I wouldn't say GameSpot gets money for reviews; however, they are probably influenced by access, much like the media is when reporting on government etc.
@dz99ls @countersin Bull. You can build your own powerful PC for minimal dollars. Yes, not so smart people will go to Best Buy and other places and buy over-prices and underpowered PC's, but you don't have to.
