magic bar seems to have turned into a stamina bar. Gives it a bit of a dark souls feel. This is not a bad thing.

I agree with marking the game down for lack of a better story. Yes it is a fighting game so most people won't care, but it is also a DC fighting game. Either use the lisence in a proper way, or just make another Mortal Kombat, I expect those to have bad story.

I disagree with all of the tutorial mode junk. Tutorials are boring and pointless. If you are good at fighting games, you aren't going to use them. If you are bad at fighting games, you are going to look up youtube videos and game guides on how to be better. I can't think of a single competitive fighting game where playing the tutorial is going to make you better at the game.

I agree that if you've been playing them since 2005 then the formula will be stale. But I also don't think you fall into the target audience. Sure these games are great for all ages, but they are best for parents and kids. And kids are very much like the lego games, they keep making more of them, and they are mostly similar. There are probably plenty of kids looking forward to this game that were born in 2005, and have thus never played any lego game.

awesome. I've been wanting to replay this, but not enough to hook up my 360. Luckily steam has no "pay to update" model like Microsoft so we can actually get patches and what-not.

This game will likely be the best thing CAPCOM has made in 10 years.

@goriv: I would honestly have to rank Dark/Demon Souls above Witcher, but only by a very small amount. Not even just because of the combat, Witcher more than makes up for that in story and character development. Mostly just due to the 'Soul's series being a bit more ground breaking. Also, I've gotten to the point where when a game tells me to "collect x amount of y" I want to yell at the developer (though there was the feather collecting quest... which was worth it).

Edit: forgot you also mentioned dragon age... it isn't as good as either of the other games. Enough said.

It does look like it will be the usual "Movie/TV to video game"-game, with some sloppy running and shooting awkwardly placed between cut-scenes voice acted by a few characters from the show (probably in one long recording session). I get that most big franchises do this at some point or another, I just don't get why walking dead is doing it. They've already shown that the franchise works well in the gaming world if you give it to a great developer, why not spend the extra cash to make a real survival horror game (especially since RE6 was such a flop). Hopefully I'm wrong and this ends up being the next best thing since RE2, but I'm certainly not going to be pre-ordering based on the trailer.

@cubd1 Cool. You figured out the game. Now grow up a bit, and you will appreciate what you've figured out, and you will probably like the game. :)

First: I agree with this review. I also think that I understand what American McGee was going for with this game (I think the reviewer understood that too), and that he just failed to achieve what he was going for (the game just isn't very much fun). This is a great looking game, that seems like it SHOULD have a ton of personality like we see in other indie titles. But it just seems kind of flat and boring at first impression, and tedious and greedy with further inspection. It seems odd to me that someone like McGee (who's Alice games have so much depth) wouldn't be able to recognize the complete lack of depth in akeneiro.

@NTenseify @csveiman For me it isn't even the cost of the PS3 that is an impedance. I mean if a game requires a better GPU/CPU/RAM/etc. Then I never have a problem dropping the money (likely much more money than the cost of a PS3). But new computer hardware is a good investment, it ups the overall performance of my main PC, and also allows me to upgrade my work computer/kids computer/mom's computer/etc. with the old parts. Buying a PS3 would only benifit me during the time I'm playing this game. Then once a PS4 comes out the PS3 becomes technically obsolete and useful only as a piece of vintage hardware (similar to a VHS/8-track/record player).
